How do you use magic/skills? I get the box up in left hand corner and can scroll along, but which keyboard button do I press to use the skill?

enter/space (the action key)

Select the spell/skill/item you want to use and then press enter/space to close the battle menu. Hit enter/space again and the spell/skill/item will be executed.

It is a rather slow process....and eventually you probably will realize that its easier to just ignore them...

yep,and u have to be next to enemy to use spell and to open the spell box,and somtimes the enemy moves x.x
