Hello, I'm new here and I'm having a problem with Aveyond 1. First off, no, I didn't download/buy it from the Amaranth site, I bought it from Amazon.com. It has apparently installed, but I can't even open the game. I've updated my drivers, I've tried to run it as administrator, I've tried to open it in XP service pack 2, I've enen uninstalled and reinstalled it, and nothing is working. I am running a Windows 7 (64 bit) machine, but from what I've read I should still be able to run Aveyond.
Can someone please tell me what I'm doing wrong? Moved to Technical Questions. ~Mopiece

Can you say what DOES happen when you try to run the game? Does it try to open, then closes again? Do you get a message?
Go to the game's install folder and right-click on the exe. In Compatibility settings, choose Windows XP Compatible, and check Run as Administrator. See if that makes a difference.

I have done what you suggested, but it isn't working, thanks, though. What happens when I try to run the game (as administrator) is that the dialogue box pops up asking if I want to run the game. I click yes, the box goes away as normal and the wait symbol on my mouse shows up, then stops after about 10 seconds. Nothing pulls up. It has me scratching my head in confussion.

When you updated your drivers, did you go to the Microsoft Windows Update site, or did you go to the site of the manufacturers of your video and audio cards? I would try the latter, just in case there are newer drivers than the ones that have been provided to Microsoft.

Maevrin, I'm sorry I can't help you out any further. I've asked Bryce to stop by and see if he can assist. I'm sure he'll have a few more suggestions, and probably some questions, for you

Ah, that's alright and thanks for trying and getting other possible help. Right now I'm putting it down to my computer trying to drive me insane. :-D

You're not the only one that's a bit puzzled.
Could you send your MSInfo32 (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/308549) report to Support@Amaranthia.com... I'll review it tonight and reply to you with my discoveries. Thanks...
