This is actually really good news. Eridani's games are great, but they're marred by horrible grammar and typos throughout. They've also got numerous other, smaller problems. But in the end, I like their style. A collaboration with Amaranth would potentially fix all of the problems while leaving all of the good things, and such a game could be really amazing. I'm excited.

I LOVED Ella's Hope, despite the grammar mistakes throughout. Hopefully Amaranth can help with that. I played the demo for The Witch and the Warrior and it didn't grab me, but maybe it gets really awesome after the first hour, I don't know.

So if this is a collab project, is it an RPG? Amaranth's first non-Aveyond RPG?

Eri and Indy are not the same -_-' Eri used to work for Indy but she split after releasing Ella's Hope.
As for me I'm happy because since the time I played Ella's Hope, I've been saying that Amaranth and Eridani must work on a game together, so this is like a dream come true ♥

@Esme I didn't enjoy The Witch and the warrior but I did enjoy Leah's Tale which is as good as Ella's Hope.

Are you sure this was not caused by the fact that Eridani is not from the United States and the language conventions in the United Kingdom might be different? I remember D_A complained a lot about being marked down in her English class for writing with the British spelling as opposed to the American one.

Anyways. Ditto above. Eridani is from the UK. Maybe they have a different lingo/grammar/whatever. Or I'm just not paying attention.
As an artist, I'm more "concerned" (so to speak) about the AV2 tilesets they're using. I didn't like them in AV2 and I didn't like them in Eridani's games. I thought their stories weren't engaging enough too (sorry, eridani). I got bored so early on in the game that I can't be bothered to continue playing.

Nice point of view Agas. I've played all 3 games by Eridani and there are probably 3-4 spelling mistakes in each game (in Leah's Tale I did spot 2)but that's all. Eri is from the UK which is the mother of English language and I have nothing against American version of the language but I am more fond of the original, so if you are not used to read or listen proper English that not Eridani's fault. As for the hmmm tile-sets I actually do enjoy them because those tiles are not seen in every game that is on the market. Eri does a great job with her original stories and her imagination, so you don't get a story where characters use perv language or crappy dialogs just for the game to be interesting and to sell, but an original masterpiece.

There are a few differences between UK and US grammar, as I've discovered mainly through making the games.

Collective nouns in UK english, for example, can be plural or singular. I believe in US they are nearly always singular?

Past tense verbs can be different in structure. Other tenses can differ, auxiliaries such as shan't/won't are not the same... oh there's lots. Wiki has a big list lol.

There are also the more known various spelling differences:
colour/color
theatre/theater
-ise/-ize
traveller/traveler
etc

I know some people have thought certain words have been typos but they are the correct UK spellings.

I'm not saying some mistakes won't sneak through, even after testing, but we do change them as soon as we can if anything is found.

I also find there are things I type that to me are everyday phrases but my US based testers catch them and say they have no idea what I mean, so they are changed in advance!

Hope that clears up a few things, it is something we'll be working hard on anyway as I know how important it is.

@Moonja: I have a preference for British English too I used to go to an Australian-based school so the majority of my English education had been in British English. Now I'm in the USA and I constantly mix up the two "versions", LOL.

The Av2 tilesets is just not for me. It has "rough" shading, and it totally doesn't gel with the characters, which have smoother-looking shading.

Anyway, my previous comment still stands that I'm really excited for this game.

i love Eri's games!i don't pay attention to small spelling mistakes because i am Greek and, though i have a certificate in English,obviously i cannot be a good judge on this..
the games are fascinating so i let myself just live the experience!i know that this cooperation will be a great success!

No Indy and Eri are not one in the same. I have played all of Eri's games and I love them.
