OK, Rarity was just using cursed armor as an example. No need to get all up in arms about the benefits/costs of the armor.
Also, Rarity never said it would be a goodie, he/she was just stating that a possible feature would be a status bonus for wearing a matching set of armor, (again the cursed armor was only an example). As another example, let's say if you were wearing golden armor, golden helm, and golden shield, you'd get a DEF bonus and 50% extra defense against poison, or something like that.

NO.. I meant "terrified". As in sick of it (it's an expresion in my languge...not so sure it's used in english though... sorry). She always wonders how can I not get bored since I'm playing it over and over again. (She's 23)

Give her some slack, we got the idea for the most part after she elaborated.
I like the idea of Armour sets with bonuses. Something I thought about while playing AV2 in-particular was pirates in the ocean. We usually get a choice of Imperial Sails (white) or Pirate sails (black w/ skull & cross bones). I think it's be cool to fight men on ships of the opposite ship kind.

I woulnd't like it. I mean in Final Fantasy you get attacked everywhere and anywhere you go.. It's annoying...

As I mentioned, Aveyond is mostly a story-based game, and the battle system, to be frank, is quite boring. While it is good to gain exp. and level ups, it is totally not cool to encounter a battle every step because you can't see and avoid the monsters. Not to mention that if your level is high enough, the exp. obtained won't be worth the time you spend on fighting the monsters (i.e. waiting for battle screen to load, enemies to attack, then assign a move for each party member, etc). @Professor Diggory: No. Aveyond as an MMO is a bad idea because not all people enjoy gaming in an online community, since there's always bound to be spammers and whiners posting irrelevant gibberish in the shout boxes. Not to mention that having to connect to the internet everytime you want to play is a hassle, since you never know when your network might have a sudden interference or problem. Also, since MMOs usually have limited server, you can't play the game anytime; and even when you do, if the server is full, the game will lag. MMOs are also harder to maintain, because so many people are playing on the same server, and the information overload could cause glitches.

Are we talking about the same game? "encounter a battle every step because you can't see and avoid the monsters" is absolutely not Aveyond - unless you happen to be in one of the very few areas where the monsters blend well with the background. You can see every single monster, and you can avoid most of them. And battles are far from "every step".
The number of monsters and the exp gained is calculated to ensure you are at a high enough level when you encounter the next boss. So while you CAN avoid most battles, you SHOULD fight each group at least once, because that's the minimum you need to do to defeat the bosses. *looking over the last few pages, wonders why every time we announce another game in the making, the thread degenerates into a gripe-fest about what was wrong with all the other games in everyone's opinion*

I think that this started from Soumya's post, because he said we should have sea monsters. And I gave example Final Fantasy where you can't see them and they are at "every step" and that is something we would not want to have in Aveyond. Not that we did, thank God.

Aveyond has NEVER done random encounter battles, so I don't think they'll ever start doing that. One of the best thing in Aveyond, really. I dislike random encounter battles.
Though jumping on the sea monster talk... A battle on ship/air travel should be interesting. If you're on a dragon, have harpies or monster-bats or violent birds attack you. On ships you have qiant squids or demon-fishes or other sea monsters. Also... Unless you don't mind a pixelly RMXP-style MMO, there's no way Amaranth would be able to make one. And even if you don't mind it, there's so much hassle you have to deal with when making MMOs. Servers running 24/7, mods having to constantly make event/encounter/quest updates, a database to supposrt the bajillions of people playing it... Yeah. Bad idea.

Losing internet connection shouldn't be a game maker's concern. They are responsible for the game and the server, not the connection on your end.
That's like a TV executive not wanting to make a show because someone's cable might go out. ![]()

Well first as an MMO it would be totally optional play for anyone who wants to, second spammers are gonna happen everywhere no matter what (we have a separate area just for them,) third yes servers get full but you can make multiple servers with an expanding audience.

@Diggory: DO YOU KNOW THAT AN MMO IS VERY EXPENSIVE TO MAKE??? Unless I am just unaware that Amaranth secretly have the funds to support the development, it's not going to happen.
Even if we have a crowd-funding set up, an MMO is too much a hassle to maintain. How many staff do you need to have on board to keep it afloat continuously? Yes, it's "optional", but if too little people play it? Not worth the money spent on making it! HERP DERP Then it's better for the money to be spent on making an Aveyond game with graphics and storyline and setting with the complexity level of Kingdom Hearts or Final Fantasy.We don't want to belittle Aveyond or Amaranth, but it's true that it doesn't have enough audience right now. It's too much a risk to attempt making an MMO because there's no telling how many new audience will come and not all of the old audience are willing to go for it.
