Young Uma and Nox, hmm... Does this mean they were OLD in AV3 (like 40+ old but looking like 20+ due to magic) or they're young like 8-year-old-young-and-already-getting-into-trouble-they-shouldn't young? XD

Me no think it's Uma and Nox from the orphanage, me thinks it's this mystery boy who's gonna be the central protagonist. Mwahahaha... Uma and Nox are like Te'ijal and Galahad... always the sidekick, never the main dish XD

Edit: Hmm... is it possible that the game starts with Uma and Nox, after hearing about Mel's tragic childhood in the orphanage, returned to that orphanage and was attempting to break in and "rescue" / release all the orphans there when... the mystery boy beats them to the punch! Nox will get all huffy and competitive, Uma will give Nox a clout on the ear (hehe ^^ I love Uma's ability to rein Nox in), and the boy just vanishes into thin air afterwards!

So it's sounding like this will be the first direct sequel in the series, more AV3 2 than AV4 in the sense of the other games. That's interesting. I hope it's not too closely tied to AV3, because I think that, while it's probably the best in the series, it also has a pretty weak story past LoT and GoN. I'm excited to see Uma and Nox, though.

I'm really not too keen on meeting Uma and Nox again so seen (was turned off by fansqueeing), but hey. I'm sure it'll be fine and dandy when it comes out.

I think we might see a different side to them this time - rather than being mysterious and "are they helping or harming?"

On a completely new part of Aia and with a new lead (which I'm assuming the boy, who I'm also assuming is in the orphanage, will be) I doubt there'll be much reference to AV3. So I'm not expecting it to be a sequel as much as a brand new game.

@shaz: Well, I guess it really depends how big and what kind of part the twins get. We don't really have any info, and from the brief blurb we got it and then the way the discussion leaned subsequently, I guess that's just the idea that I got. I'll admit, the official information we do have does not suggest too strong a connection, except that we haven't gotten characters from a previous game as what seem to be the driving protagonists before now.

Just remember that ONLY what comes from Amanda is fact. Everything else is speculation, which you should take with a grain of salt - including anything from me at the moment, until I've seen a game outline.

When do you normally get to see the outline?

It depends on how much Amanda has on her plate, how long it takes her to to get it all written down, and how active I will be in the project. I don't expect to see anything for a couple of months.
