The only medieval-y fantasy puzzle game I know is called Puzzle Quest. However, the game play isn't forming a picture from cutting pieces, so I guess it's not that one.

@D_A
Oooh (P)lanets! I've played that game before! (albeit being long) The only problem I had was the boys were too... few. :/ And welp, you'll find out about her mom soon later in the game. ![]() I can't wait for the sequel to come out. ^^

@Ivana: Send me spoilers. All of them. Tell me everything. I want to know if this game is interesting enough to worth my time. I don't care I already know the story. If I like it, I'd want to experience it myself. If not, your cliffnotes edition will be enough to get me by
![]() If it's something cliche like she's not the parents' real child or the like, I'm not gonna be happy I mean, I barely slogged through it because I'm not at all interested in the boys and otome games are all about getting with boys! They aren't at all cute to me, and eye candy is important, LOL. I mean, if the game's main objective is to get with guys, I better be interested in them.

Uh no, she's her real child @_@ Her parents (well, mom mainly) is really just a jerk but it won't last long lol.
The game is kinda huge so brace yourself. xd

And they were terrible to her... WHY? It better be a good explanation because the whole "parents = something you have to escape from to have adventures and you totally are better off without them" trope makes me so mad *ROAR* (ノಠ益ಠ )ノ彡┻━┻
If it's the kid showing off how super awesome she is and the parents are all "Oh child, you so special snowflake we sorry we mean to you and not recognize ur speshulness because we fail so hard lah"... Well, it will depend on how it's played off. It's hard to get this kind of thing done right. I've only seen like one or two instances where this idea doesn't make me want to tableflip in rage and even then those weren't so memorable that I've forgotten what they were now.

Nope, none of those 'I'm so sorry can I get a hug now??" thing. It's actually kinda... wth-ish haha. Just see for yourself.

Dude, how many times do I need to tell you I do not want to play until I know it's worth my time. Your promise that it's good is not enough. I want you to tell me what happens. Use PM or hide it in white text if you need to. I do NOT want to have to slog through hours of potentially-boring gameplay to see for myself. Tell me NAOW!

Hey, my taste and your taste is different. I can say whatever happened in the game and think it's 'good' and you think it sucks. Find out for yourself or don't play at all.

@Ivana: Well, I believe that's exactly the reason why d_a is asking you. She wants to know what happens in the story and decide by herself, based on that, if she thinks it's worth her time to play. She's not asking you to convince her it's good, and I'm pretty sure she knows you two have different taste in games. Not all people have that much time to spend on playing games, so it's better to know beforehand if the game you want to play in your little free time is worth the time you're going to spend on it.
tl;dr - you know the story of the game, and she wants to know how it goes. Opinions don't matter at this moment. What's so hard with giving spoilers?

Thank you Rogue, you know me so well.
@Ivana: I don't care if you think the game sucks or if you think the game is super epic wonderful forever. I just want to know what happens in the story. If I like what I hear, I will go play even if I know what happens. If I don't, I wouldn't need to waste an hour of my life playing a game I do not like.

It's not hard. It's just the story is LONG and it's a dating VN at that (which means I have to list out the stories in all paths) so I'm not bothered to type it all out.
Second, even if I've summarized the whole thing, it'd be pointless. What about the dialogues between the characters? There's a difference in knowing and experiencing the game itself. And if her tone wasn't that demanding, I'd probably be more inclined to help her. Playing games is a very time-consuming thing. Do you want something quick like Mario or do you want to "get something" out of it? If it's the latter, you probably shouldn't play it then. (And if you knew something is 'worth your time' or not, maybe you shouldn't have watched the Twilight franchise? Just a thought.)

What post were you reading that you came onto the conclusion I want you to write out the entire gameplay?
Weren't you paying attention to what I was so antsy to know about?I reiterate my original question: why exactly did the heroine's parent think nasty things about her in the beginning of the game? Was that so hard to answer? My initial post was that I'm already too angry about this whole "parents are nasty, I can ditch them without feeling guilty, woohoo!" that I can't continue playing the game. You said the jerk-parent thing won't last long, but it has a WTH explanation. Instead of giving me my peace by telling me what the WTH explanation is or why the jerk-parents won't last long, you tell me to go play. And you wonder why I was yelling? And now you complain about my yelling? ![]() Since you brought up Twilight, this is my rebuttal: The time I enjoy wasting is not wasted time at all ![]()

tl;dr: Oh okay since me not bothering to explain it all justifies your yelling. Go on, everyone can tolerate your yelling princess.
Search it at google if you want to know that badly.

But I don't have a yelling princess
And... I notice you've been acting rather uppity lately I was yelling because I feel like you're not understanding my request and telling me to go do something I already said I cannot. Don't anyone get frustrated when the other side don't seem to understand? Still don't get why you're playing secrets when it's easy enough to give me one sentence worth of answer (unless the kerfuffle is more complicated than it seems). It's not like it's a major spoiler or anything. About Google: I tried. I really did. I'm someone who tells other people to go Google something all the time, after all. If Google gave me an answer, I wouldn't have asked. All that came up for me on Google are reviews that focus only on the guys' routes and life at (P)lanets and basically say "play game yourself! I swear, it's fun!"

And it's funny how you think I'm still gonna be willing to tell you why her mom did that after all these. ![]()

So... I edited my post like 3-4 times earlier and I got ninja'd while I was editing.
@Icana: so i don't know which version of my post you were looking at when you replied, but anyways. That smiley is just there so I don't sound like I'm mad or something. Not because I'm really laughing. I mean, you were calling me "princess" somewhat snidely And... happier smiley = more light-hearted tone, right? Or no? ![]() Eh, there is always hope So far you've only said that you didn't feel like helping me out because I would miss out on the experience by writing spoilers, spoilers take too long to write, and because I was throwing a tantrum. I'm still not sure why you're refusing to tell me anything Any particular reason?

Ok. I wasn't uppity. Your tone earlier sounded really demanding.
Her mom had that attitude to her because she's getting sick of the burden of having a child (you know, paying bills, more bills, less time to do things you could have done if you werent a mom etc etc) and her attitude changes after the main protagonist goes to the special school because her mom apparently unofficially adapted that cross-dressing-boy-that-starts-with-H and his 'merry-go-happy' personality apparently affected her mom to make her turn 'positive' or something.

The caps and the Taz icon, huh? I actually meant that to be over-the-top so it would come off as silly. Always forgot that people can't read minds.
Ooh. Well. Okay. Issue solved. This is still bad excuse and DEAR LORD WHAT A CONTRIVANCE. Being tired of mom-hood doesn't give you an excuse to start wishing your kid to never be born and rejoicing at their pain. I guess that's how it works in the freaking US of A. Or the general populus of modern world. RAWRGH. ------------------------------------------ So some of the recent Japanese otome games actually provide demos. I tried downloading PersonA-Phantom of the Opera. Didn't work. I don't know what went wrong. I had Heart no Kuni no Alice on my computer and it worked! the PersonA demo doesn't. I wonder why ![]() And... I apparently underestimated just how smutty Japanese R18 otome games are. I went and downloaded the CG scenes for PersonA, and... OH DEAR LORD, MY EYES!!! I is ill Thank goodness I didn't take the crazy leap of faith and bought the darn game. It's filled with so much do not want.

@agas
installing japanese visual novels usually need Japanese System Locale. Or you can always google for installing issues for particular game. And I have read somewhere that Japanese's age rating is unbelievable. I've actually crossed a gore, psychological horror [movie] and it's rated as PG12.*facepalm*

Eh, it's weird because I had two other Japanese games that works perfectly fine
Oh well. I know it's R18 so I was expecting smut, but the rape-y vibes... I totally forgot that Japan is very much into dub-con, non-con, and various forms of rape fantasy stuff. And I was more flailing because of its source story. As in, "Augh! This character should NOT be doing this!" 'specially Erik the Phantom. Do not want rapist-Phantom ![]() Still, I concede that I was over-reacting. This is not as bad as other R18 titles. I got Cgs of Akazukin to Mayoi no Mori, which was supposedly loosely inspired by Red Riding Hood. Those were WAY WORSE. Censored for rather-racy talk: Pics were practically pr0n, except that they censor the guys' dingdongs and the girl's vajayjay. And even through the pixellated censor I could see some of the guys have dingdongs the size of the heroine's HEAD. WHAT IS THIS I DON'T EVEN *dies* ![]()
