Oh, I really adore the OP "movies" for professional games. Some homemade ones have decent opening movies, but rarely. My favourite one is Angelique Mare no Roku Kishi's OP. Mostly because THE SONG IS EPIC. I love that song. It's awesome. Didn't quite like how the animation is so fast. I could barely catch the name of the characters. And for the game itself, I'm super-meh about it even if they have an English patch. The guys I'm interested in don't have paths and an otome game IS all about getting the guys. Whatever cool story that goes in the backdrop is still a freaking backdrop. Though the art is preeeettyyyyy~ I won't mind buying the fanbook!

Speaking about games, I'm not even sure if I could finish a demo for RMN's nagademo (aka national game development month) event :/ I've already done the maps but I'm still having trouble with the commands...

I know quite much of epic visual novels, and without the overaged stuff. But they are not otome, and they all have guy as the MC. I've played Clannad, Ever17, and Symphonic Rain. I can guarantee they are really good.
Another epic one that is 18+ is Fate by ufotable.

Speaking of 18+ games, I once played this adult VN called Kara No Shoujo (which I've mentioned before, but forgotten when). It has beautiful graphics (which is quite expected from demoware VNs), and interesting storyline- which is quite epic (despite not being fantasy; the investment of the story is just great, IMO). But, it also contains a lot of illustrations of violent deaths, naked people, blow-jobs and sex scenes which ARE NOT CENSORED! There's also rape involved in the back story of some characters, though thankfully not portrayed positively, and is not illustrated (just mentioned).

@Rogue: Was it English/Japanese? can't ever seem to get Japanese stuff to work properly without twiddling with a lot of settings.

Do you mean the language or the developers? It's made in Japan, but already translated into English, if that's what you're asking.

Ah, an English patch. Because I got some stuff that wasn't translated, and I had to fiddle with settings so the game would run. And for some reason it turned the language in my Photoshop into Japanese. Blah.

I want to try that game you're talking about, if only to know what the story is about. I can tolerate the pr0n... probably...

I still have the .rar files, but it's too large to send by mail, since the size of each is around 200MB.

The game is about some murder/mystery/thriller, as opposed to the usual Dating Sim VN. Romance is treated as very secondary (since the main character is still not really over his dead girlfriend), but it is pretty much shown that sex =/= romance. All the characters were quite well-developed, I suppose, and that's one of the things I like from this game.

Anyone had played Cinders? I got it last week and it was pretty good.

It's a more serious Cinderella story, adding more personalities to the stepmother, the stepsisters, as well as adding a couple new faces *spoiler* You can even choose who your "fairy godmother" is and you can have a chance to kill your stepmom lol *endspoiler*

Oh gosh. I can't believe I've finally found a game that I'll play because of the GRAPHICS. Yeah you heard me. It's called "Raciela" (you can find it on RMN), and it's a pirate rpg at that! Beautiful, beautiful custom graphics... >3<

As someone not a big fan of RM2k? I have to disagree. That graphics is still not good. It still gets all pixellated when you run the game >.< I'd say Pirate Rush, another pirate RPG, has better graphics, but hey. Whatever rocks your boat.

MAJOR kudos to Raciela for the custom graphics, though. We all know how much of a pain it is to make full custom tilesets.
