I have played D. Prophecy over a year ago and just completed first 3 parts but now D.P. doesn't work right with halting action and music. It is unplayable in the current state. Reinstalled/download-reinstall all didn't help. Any ideas?

Try updating drivers. Does this happen to any of the other Aveyond games?

Other games in the orb series run okay with only occasional "hiccups". What drivers specifically would influence this? Windows doesn't have any updates to do.

Windows updates never has the latest driver. The drivers they have are always a few months old. Try updating your sound drivers. And what do you mean "hiccups"? Do you mean a slight freeze? Or glitch?

First of all, thank you for your help. I mean a slight freeze in motion. D. Prophecy, however, has major freezes. It will take 3 to 4 seconds to recognize what is in a dead body and the sound goes into a short loop (replay last second) when changing from one sound to another (at the end of a battle for instance). Am running HP quad processor, 8BG memory, NVIDIA GeForce 9100 and Realtek HD audio. Windows 7 SP1.

It's strange that this game behaves differently to the others, as there were VERY few changes in the engine between them (LoT, GoN, TLO and TDP).
Do you have anything else running in the background when you play? Maybe a security scanner? You can get the latest and greatest drivers by going to the website for your audio and video card manufacturers. It might even be worth uninstalling and reinstalling your game. Your save files won't be affected. Did you purchase it here, or from someone else?

Update, seems the computer gods have done something...but don't know what exactly. Microsoft did some updating and I made sure that the properties setting were the same as another game that worked fine. Now D. Prophesy works fine. Don't know what did it but thanks for your help. If I ever find out what caused the problem I will let you know.
