Here we are. Some notes before going in: Teijal and eddy are in the same universe/timeline. Eddys being emo, and teijal's being... err... yeah?

Teijal hated this event with a passion. Every now and then, the various vampire clan leaders would meet up to renew alliances, make war, and just gossip with each other. They had nothing else to do with immortality around. Unfortunately, that meant all their underlings had to mingle also and Teijal was partnered with one of them this time, them being one of the far outliers of the vampire race.

They didn't have fangs, sparkled in the sunlight, had infectious venom, and breathed. Now, Teijal wasn't exactly a vampist and found her (very) distant cousins amusing if confusing. It was just her sparkling partner was an aggravating pain in the neck.

He wouldn't stop talking about his 'fragile girl' and lamenting how he couldn't be with said girl due to the event. He already mentioned probably twenty times her extreme clumsiness and naivety in thirty minutes. Personally, Teijal thought he was a control freak who saw the world through rose tinted glass. Someone's been reading far too many romantic novels for their own good, especially if one's immortal. Since he wouldn't stop talking, he scared all the prey away for miles. How the heck were they suppose to hunt like this?

Feeling her fangs partially unsheathed, Teijal had enough. She turned, grabbed the boy by the neck, and slammed him into a tree. Her eyes glowing, she growled out "I've enough of your whining Sparky. Sparkling in front of humans so your clan will kill you? Please, that's pathetic. Now be a good Sparky and stay quiet. Or else someone's going to have to tell their girl the real reason why he's reluctant about 'moving forward'."

When he looked like he was about to protest, she cut him off. "Sparky, do you seriously want me to start tearing off pieces? Because I'm more then willing to at this point. And we both know I'm more powerful than you."

"My clan would never forgive this!"

"Perhaps. But why call the clans when we can fight it out right now? Vampire code and all, unless you have no honor."

She smirked as he closed his mouth with a snap. Teijal was stronger after all. "Good, now remain quiet and you might actually get out of this in one whole piece."

Teijal tossed him aside and walked away without a second glance. The rest of the night was very peaceful after that.

Seeing Twilight I thought that was quite mellow romance, but having seen the trailer of "new moon", I've seen the story becomes really captivating , I've reserved "the new moon" book to read it in English, would be better for me if I have time to read it before the movie's release

though I don't see how twilight is fascinating as bella and eddy hook up. Temptation should be depression since that's what bella does for a lot of hte book.

OK, I have not followed this thread at all, but whatever. I have to say that the Twilight 'Saga' went Ok--Mehh--Worse--Worser. The books just got boring, plot-less (ok, so they never had a plot, but still...), and the writing seemed to somehow get worse, against all logic. And, what I thought was funny? The book follows the generic romance book formula. There is a formula for romance books that is just like what you do. Twilight followed it perfectly. So much for creative...

I mean, my biggest problem is how trashy the last book got. This series has a huge fan-base of tween girls, first of all. You see all of these little girls carrying around Breaking Dawn. I just wish I could snatch the book away from them and scold their mothers on letting their children read this fourth book. And second, this is a Mormon author. What is she doing writing these books? I'm Mormon, and reading these books, I kept thinking that it was all a ploy. That being Mormon made the books somehow cooler or something. That she pretended to get all of the Mormon girls to read the books. These do NOT read like books from a Mormon author should. Just wanted to put that out there.

Another thing, the whole series was supposed to be about choice; about sacrifice. As in, Bella needed to choose between something and something else. Where the decision was hard. Then, in Breaking Dawn, she gets everything she ever wanted. She marries Edward, becomes a vampire, STILL KEEPS HER PARENTS, has a kid, Jacob is all happy, they defeat the evil things. EVERYTHING turns out perfectly, she doesn't have any sacrifice. It was just ridiculous.

That's what I think of these books. I mean, there are some points about them to like, like Jacob (yeah, I still picked a team, even though I don't particularly like the books), like... well, I can't think of anything else, but there must be more. The last thing I have to say is that Twilight is not the next Harry Potter. Harry Potter has a cleverly constructed plot, great characters, and an interesting idea. GG Twilight.

as for the romance formula: I'm guess its 'boring' girl meets jock, girl gets jock and 1 kid? Imo though, the formula is fine as many entertaining movies are based on this simple formula. And there's no such thing as an original formula as everything's been done before. The problem is how the formula was carried out, which was eye gorging bad.

mormon: i'm quite confused what you mean by 'mormon author=no write this'. What do you mean? What should mormons be writing about?

Sacrifice/choice: haha, I agree with you there. Love triangle? wat triangle? bella's 'choice' has always been obvious.

What I mean by a Mormon writing it is that our church is based on very specific things, and Stephanie Meyer just sort of ignored all of that, and wrote a book that's pretty much completely against the religion. This I would not have cared so much about if she hadn't gone off to say something about how she 'wanted to write a series for tween Mormon girls' and all that. Which brings me back to my point that this series is not at all appropriate for a main element of the fan-base. Also, it's not really that Mormons should not write what they want to write, it's that they should not write stuff that makes one doubt they actually care about their religion, or believe in their religion. I also don't like the fact that she, at one point, said she wanted to be Bella and that Edward was her dream guy or whatever. She's a married woman, and I don't think she should just be saying things like that. BUT it's her business. I don't mean to judge.
