They say New Moon's better than Twilight. I'll probably wait for an online source to appear somewhere and watch it for free.

I think the New Moon film had a little less of a cheesiness factor to it, as well as more of a plot (although that's not really giving it a whole lot of credit...) Twilight's plot, in general, is rather pointless and unorganized. I mean, there's hardly ANY conflict to speak of until the baseball game, and that's not until about 75% of the book/film is over. At least New Moon gives us a definite love triangle. Oh yeah, and the hot guys walking around topless helped, too xD (I wonder why, though, no one questions this! Forks is supposed to be a relatively cold, rainy place...yet these guys are walking around in the pouring rain without shirts and apparently not feeling the effects of the weather..?!)

=___= Can't say anything about the shirtless guys coz I'm not exactly the type of person who likes big buff guys, but the trailers look nice. At least it's not all-blue like Twilight was. Chris Weiz or whoever directed New Moon was said to be a much better director than ... that lady who directed Twilight (her name was C-something H-something, can't remember).
And about the walking around shirtless in such weather totally depends on the weather and the season. Unlike what Meyer believes, even Forks get quite a lot of sun and warmth around late spring and summer, and maybe early fall if they're lucky. That means the Cullens would have to either carry around umbrellas and parasols, hide inside their house all day, or wear long sleeved clothes and gloves and scarves during summer. And the "kids" would miss a whole lot of classes if they can't go out when it's sunny. Forks isn't cloudy 24/7!!

yeah, but that's expecting meyers to actually do research which, we know, she utterly sucks at and/or doesn't wanna do it anyway.

Well they did mention that the wolf guys are pretty hot-blooded (literally and figuratively) so it's no surprise they can walk topless in the freezing rain. :|

This is kinda off topic, but I thought it would be interesting to mention that there's this guy named Edward in my old high school who has this orange-brown hair and is so pale (compared to most of the students) and whenever I see the description of Edward Cullen it reminds me of him. His eyes are light brown too, so in certain lighting it looked yellow-gold

Alex Day reads Twilight.
He's made his way through the first four chapters of the book so far. It's hilarious to watch. ![]() Twilight on TV Tropes, admittedly just because I love the site. I like this bit particularly: The Quileutes are an actual tribe whom Meyer chose to include in her story because they 'live near Forks.' She made up mythology for real people.

Mark Reads Twilight
This guy is giving commentaries on the whole series, plus quotes to prove his point. Dan Blogs Twilight Similar kind of thing, except this guy does it pure commentaries, without quotes from the book. I'm trying my best to read Breaking Dawn now. It's just SO PAINFUL TO READ!!!! I even read the half-assed Midnight Sun and it's just as friggin BAD. It's actually worse than Twilight. Edward sounds more like an arrogant bastard than ever, more stalkerish than ever, and we still don't get understand why he loves Bella!! It doesn't make any sense at all.

Gag Breaking Dawn ew gag. Worst book of my life.... Blech.
Haven't read midnight Sun, and I have no intention too. I hate Edward in Twilight especially--how is stalking romantic? *headdesk*

why are you guys reading it if its so painful?
I gave up after 1 chap of twilight as I ain't a masochist. O-o; yay for tv trope XD Ohh I wonder if this is real: # # The flashback/mental image special effects for Bella. Just... no. The only flashback/dream sequence/what-have-you that was tolerable happened to involve two extremely attractive men, um, necking, if you will. The others were rather comic. (Even the necking has some narm with Pattinson's facial expressions...) This is because the actor playing Carlisle reportedly whispered "You're so sexy" into Pattisons ear in order to get the proper freaked-out expression out of him. ^ROFL

It was a long time ago. When BD first came out. And I didn't know it would be that bad. Haven't touched it since.
That and I'm one of those people who got through the books just fine, put them down, and said, "What the hell did I just read?" @KTC: XDDD

While everyone else is wearing heavy jackets and coats to ward off the cold and rain, Sam is wearing not much else except a torn pair of shorts. AND NO ONE QUESTIONS THIS. No one is concerned that Sam is cold and would get sick. Yet, no one (except maybe Billy) knows that he's a hot-blooded werewolf. IT MAKES NO SENSE. But, as KTC pointed out, a lot of stuff in these books make no sense, anyway, so I don't know why I bother questioning xD And actually, I just finished catching up with Mark Reads Twilight myself. He's absolutely hilarious!

lol, you could write a book on the nonsense in twilight
Another logic tidbit: Someone brought up a really good point with jasper: if he's so 'bloodphilic' that he'd totally jump bella due to a tiny papercut, how the heck does he make it through highschool with a bunch of PMSing girls and/or random highschool accidents? (periods/menstrual cycle=bloody hell!) Conclusion: you must turn off your brain so it makes sense. (and the twilight virus will infect you. [my sis and I been joking that there has to be some brain destroying/fangirl inducing device/drug/bug/virus in the books.])

Nothing in ALL of the books makes any sense whatsoever. There a re points in Twilight where Meyer describes Bella making dinner in such pointless details. She could have simply said that Bella made potatoes and steak for dinner, period. I don't NEED to know how Bella baked potatoes and marinated a steak.
And then she goes on and on about how at first Bella thinks Edward is a jerk and doesn't like him, yet freak out when he isn't there.

I think one of the stupidest things is how (at least in the movie, I don't remember the book well enough) Edward constantly approaches Bella saying how they can't be together. He walks over to Bella and says, "Hey, we can't be friends or see each other." Then he comes back to her the next day and says the same thing. She doesn't even go to him in the movie. Ummm...
Also, @agas: Doesn't it say multiple times in the book how Bella is not a good cook? For some reason I remember that. I also remember her being described as not-that-pretty yet every guy in the school wants to date her and every girl wants to be friends with her. And she totally ignores them!!!

@pink: no, Bella's DAD is not a good cook. Bella is at least a decent cook because apparently she cooks a lot back when she's with her mom.
I agree with Edward not making sense too. He says "stay away from me" all the time, yet HE'S the one who approaches Bella all the time. Like, what? Everything makes even LESS sense in Midnight Sun, because we don't get why Edward likes Bella either. At first he thought, "hey she's plain". And then nothing nothing nothing nothing then suddenly BAM! He's in love with her.

Oh, I guess I was wrong... For some reason that's what I thought it was, probably because Stephenie Meyer writes the books as though there is nothing about Bella that is interesting or worthwhile. She's clumsy. She's plain. She's got everything completely average. And yet, everyone likes her! It's like, lolwut?
And about Edward, the reason he likes her -- is that he wants to eat her. That's what the books say. She smells good to him and it's hard to resist eating her, so instead he, umm, dates... her. There's logic for ya!

LOL Edward's contradiction between his words and actions in Twilight was my first red flag that the book was going to be filled with utter nonsense. As I read, I couldn't help but think he was being an idiot, saying he didn't want to be friends with Bella while actively seeking her out just to tell her that. Didn't she already get that impression by the way he was avoiding her and acting "disgusted" in her presence? >.>
