why would you join a guild that's my question and i can't find the anwser so i hope i will get it here.

Well guilds are more like close-knit groups that interact and do many things on the forums. You also get access to the guild fourms.
It's all a choice, really. Joining a guild is completely optional.

yep. it would be fun to have a sub forum with your closer friends on the site. I personally think the guild forums are moderately fun, but it's the self-identification and alignment that appeals to me, since I can align myself with most of my closest friends on this site.

Guilds also have contests, prizes, and various other community events... but as Hui noted, the value is mostly in the friendship.

probably: maybe it's just to get to know each other first before joining one and getting to know each other more also, one more thing: does joining guilds let you access the general store?

The general store will be accessible to everybody when it's working. At the moment it's available only to guild members simply because some problems are being sorted out - closing it off to the whole forum means fewer people are experiencing the problems, but leaving it open to the guilds means there are enough people to test it out to see when the problems are sorted. I'm quite confident that the store will be opened up to the whole forum before several of you achieve guild status, so "joining a guild to access the store" won't make sense by that time.

And that hints at another benefit of joining the guilds - the last few times Amanda has released a game, she's drawn her list of beta testers from the guilds. Whether she goes the same route this time remains to be seen.

For me, being in a guild is about friendship and having fun, but it's also a sense of achievement and belonging. When someone joins a guild you know they've been here for a while and that people know them fairly well - because of the 1000 gold they've had to accumulate along the way. It's also nice to belong to a little "group" that shares a specific interest that the rest of the forum may not share, or may not be as interested in. Why 1000 gold? Well, someone who'd just joined the site won't know the people, and the people won't know them. They need to have some time to get familiar with things, learn the ropes, get to know others. If you didn't have to do anything to "earn" your membership into a guild, then there'd be nothing "special" about them. I actually like that people can't just join the forum and sign themselves into a guild straight away. I like that people have to work a bit to get there (as did all of those who are in guilds).

I wouldn't think of it that way per say. You should think of a guild as a group of "friends" bond by a particular interest. Of course, you can think of it as a goal. But if you think about it, getting 1000gp is easy if you just participate a lot. (to me anyway, there are far more ways to earn gold [and spam] now than there was before)

Of course, you don't have to join a guild, so never feel pressured that you have to join a guild when you get 1000gp.

Sure being guilded has it's perks (exclusive guild forum, possible beta,etc.) but it's not everything.

Well you can read the guild outline topics in this forum, as well as the guild blogs, to see which guild you identify yourself with... There is no "right" guild to join.

We also have a guild mother, who can ask you questions and give you unbiased information on each of the guilds, to help make your decision easier. You could PM her as you're getting closer to that point.

Is there any advantage of joining a guild? If so, please tell me! I can't choose which guild to join. I don't mean in a game, I mean on the site. Should I choose The Brotherhood, Dragon Lords, Witches and Warlocks, Enchanters, or Druids? I know that I don't have enough money yet to join a guild, but when I do I want to know which guild to choose.

I'm moving this into the guild recruiting office. If you look around there you'll find outlines of all the guilds, and a list of guild members. You can contact any of them if you have questions, or ask Phoenixgirl, the guild mother, to give you some more help.

lol- suggest that if u want a great, new guild,join the druids. the advantages are, well for the time being, only guild members get to access the general store. also, you get to know more about ur guild buddies, and have a great time!

Advantages:
1. Get to delete own posts
2. Get into possible beta pool for next game. (doesn't mean you'll be chosen)
3. Get bragging rights
4. Get access to exclusive guild forum. (only your own. so if you're a brohood, you'll only see the brohood plus some general 'hidden' forum for guilds.)

But overall: don't feel like you have to join one or the other. Take your time in picking.

can't really make a suggestion until we know what you like. The guilds obviously have themes and the one you ultimately join will be determined by how much you like the themes, and probably how many people you're friends with in that guild.
