People are just freaking themselves out by entirely misinterpreting what the mayans' 2012 date was. It's what people do. People freak out needlessly even when they get the full facts.

Are you perhaps confusing the Mayans for Aztec who thought Cortes was Quezelcoatl?

2012 aside, the reason the world is spiraling out of control is because of lust and greed. basically almost all human mass error is because of greed and desire for wealth or fulfilment of a personal desire. emmesions come from factories which don't want to use clean energy because it is cheaper to pollute the atmosphere. america invaded iraq and the middle east mainly for desire of their oil, which makes transport cheaper. nuclear weapons have been mass produced To threaten other countries into submission with their insane power. i think i read somewhere that enough nuclear warheads exist to turn the earth into dust 3 times over. Humans will shred each other in the name of money. and it's my opinion that they won't mind shredding the earth either.

What annoys me now is the amount of news with the solar explosion. They said that satellites will be destroyed and a massive gust of dramatic heat will hit the Earth and no electricity there and there.

None of these happened. The only odd thing that caught my attention on the 4th of August was that it was cloudy and the wind was blowing with some speed, moving the hot air around. I'm sure this is normal, only that I haven't experienced wind blowing without rain in summer.

And even after the 4th of August the news haven't ceased and they started pumping nonsense like "The world will end in fire and darkness" with some dramatic music on the background, occasionally showing some priest or some random old woman from the country confirming that "that's how it says in the Bible".

What is even more intriguing is that these news actually had some impact on the population that is overrating the media with its 98% modified news.

Well... I didn't read through all of this because well it's kind of long but I'm going to give my opinion on this:
First of all I'v read like a billion sites about the 2012 disaster and I'm honestly convinced that the whole thing is not true. I'm not saying that it is stupid because it is not a stupid matter. People have seen the mayan calendar and have made astrologic investigations about the matter and some people chose think one thing and some people chose to think another.
But if someone asked me upfront about it I would say 'Nope I don't think so and hollywood dosn't know nothin'.
Sure all of the sites say that something will happen and that to ignore it would be bad thing to do. Most of them are made by ignorant teenagers trying to scare the hell out of everybody. The rest might be from people who have done actuall research and have chosen what they want to believe.
In any case I really wouldn't want to know the date that I was going to die!

I do think however that something or someone bad will happen to the world but it is totally irrelevant to 2012. I am a christian and I have a christian family and once I was talking to my grandmother and she told me that somewhere in the bible it talks about an 'antichrist'. I havn't read the whole bible because I'm just a kid but my grandmother has. I asked her about it and she said that that there is some kind of evil that happens in every generation. She said that Hitler and World War II was hers.
I know it sounds a little weird and I'm not saying that we're in danger of World War III (Which I sincerely hope we're not) But that's the way she told it and I know she's not crazy. I do think some thing will happen but I have no idea where or when or what or how.
Please don't look at this as dumb or creepy. It is just what I choose to believe.

The bible predicted these worldly events in the last days. 2 timothy 3:1-5 and also Jesus gave told his disciples what would also mark the last days.

The next time Jehovah's witness come knocking on your door. Tell them what your telling all of us. They are the only religious people that use the bible, and direct you to the correct scriptures.

You should know that this world we live in won't last forever, there is a promise in Revelation 21:3,4 " God will wipe out every tear from their eyes and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore, the former things have passed away."

Revelation was written for our day.

This is a very flawed and bad way to do things. Your theory must fit the evidence. Not the other way around.

As for world won't last forever: that was always understood due to the sun eventual expansion and explosion. Won't happen in several billions of years but it'll happen eventually.

no, really. just imagine all of the pollution, poverty etc etc.. i won't even blame God if He put an end to the world this coming 2012..

It's just the 2012th circle the Earth made around the sun after Christ. BECAUSE the Earth made more than however-many-million/billion trips around the sun, so Earth is however-many-dozens-million/billion years. So the REAL 2012 already passed a LOOOOOOOOOONG time ago. We are actually in the year (do I need to go over this again?) who knows? Maybe ten thousand million/billion/whatever.

They said before that *boom, boom* it will end in 2000. I believe it is not my spirit here, in the bed writing, at my mom's laptop in some place in heaven that is extremely similar to Earth.

Media started screwing the human mind. More precisely, they make people scare themselves with thoughts as "what if...?". I also heard that some people are so scared abut this crap that they plan to commit suicide before 2012(thing that I also found in a newspaper, so this probably isn't true either). I suspect this rumor with "suicide before 2012 so you don't die along with everyone else/see the end/whatever/tomatoes" is something created so people would really do it.

News are not news anymore.

but as i've said, i believe there's this possibility of our world ending in the front of our very eyes if we don't take better care of it
i just don't like the fact that we humans are also the ones destroying it.. poor mother nature

If the world will be gone faster than it would have without our intervention, then it is because of us. However, there is a bunch of hundreds of years if not even more until it does so, even with the global warming/pollution.

It's true that the media is starting to really scare the heck out of some people. Telling people to kill themselves to not die at 2012 is just really dumb in my opinion but unfortunately some people believe it. One of my big fears is that as we get closer and closer to 2012 more and more people will start killing themselves because let's face it, there are some people in the world who believe it. Maybe they don't now but if something happens like unusual weather paterns all the time and lots of global disasters people will get unsure.

and besides, though i do not have a hard evidence like a document in a piece of paper or some other things, surveying the scenes around me is proof enough.

i live in a country that was thriving with nature.. so many wonderful creations and now, because of lack of care and discipline for it, and also because of those multimillionaire global companies who put up factories tat causes pollutions, its sad to see it all go away..

Hmm I've seem some "theories" about 2012 but they did not include global disasters or even the end of life on earth. They were rather expecting a change for better and the end of this destructive kind of economic and politic system and that people will be all nice and respectful to each other etc. What is going to replace the system and how the change will supposedly happen, I don't know. It sounds nice of course, but I rather believe that we all must work on ourselves and not just wait for some higher force to solve everything for us (I believe in the spiritual world and its possible intervention in this world, but that doesn't in any way mean that God or angels will do our work for us).

I don't think that the world will end in 2012. Honestly, all I think that these end of the world thingys are garbage. I do believe in global warming, and that we should be taking better care of the Earth, but that it's going to end in 2 or 3 years is not right.
