The game has been revamped and is about ready to be re-released. But we need more people to download it and test for bugs.

If you are in a guild and purchased AV1 from Amaranth Games and have some time to spare, please drop in to the Aveyond 1 - Build C Beta Test Forum, download the new game and put it through its paces.

In addition to fixes to a number of smaller bugs, mouse control has been added, and there are now three levels of difficulty.

shaz, does the new beta build only work for people who purchased the game from this site? I think you mentioned that in the beta forum, but if I remember correctly you said you weren't sure about that. Anyway, I got the game from Reflexive, so I just wanted to make sure if the game will only work for people who originally bought the game from here.

I own the first game but have not given it much play time because I didn't realize that it didn't have mouse functionality, but bring on the new and I will get it! Thanks!

so far aveyond 1 and 2 are the games i play the most from that site ive thought about buying the game probably will someday

I'm not going to qualify for a guild for a long time yet if I need 1000 gp. I would really love to get involved in the testing! Is there anything I can do besides spamming everyone and their dog (I won't) to get enough GP to get in a guild so I can do this?

I bought the game initially on Yahoo, and I've nearly completed it twice now. My computer runs on Vista, and Yahoo games won't announce anything is Vista compatible at this point but Rhen's Quest seemed to work fine.

I would get such a kick out of telling my wife I "have to" play a video game all weekend.

Beta testing is almost over for this game. Unfortunately releasing it to the whole forum for testing would mean more and more people would be playing different versions of the game, which would become a support nightmare down the track.

Hopefully it'll be re-released, with mouse support and difficulty levels, within the next week, and updated on other portals shortly afterwards.

Interesting... how would it differ from the other vesions though?

Like shaz said, mouse support and difficulty levels have been introduced, so it would play like Aveyond 2 in that respect.

The storyline hasn't been touched, but many little bugs have been tracked down and fixed.
All those dragon, skudder, rowboat, and Mt. Orion boat glitches that required patches should no longer be a problem.

Shaz, I hope that boat glitch where you will "Walk over everything" will be fixed, but if it can be duplicated, I will be sure to utilize it to find other bugs still in the game like I did the first time I encountered it.

Also, since you said "Different versions" what about those who still have Build A that have not upgraded to Build B? Will they be able to use the newest version to upgrade?

Build C will be a completely new install. If you purchased the game here, as soon as the new one is released, you'll be able to download and install it. If you purchased from elsewhere, you'll have to wait for them to get the new version, then download and install. You should replace your current game with it. Saved games in earlier versions will not work.

So, it's been more than a week now. How does it look with build C? When is it going to be ready for release? I hope there aren't any major dificulties.

Most problems reported to date have been fixed. But YDF testing has started and just about everyone who was involved with AV1 testing is now involved with YDF testing.
