They might be able to pull it off with a good makeup artist. It's amazing how many years alittle makeup can add.

and there's technology too! they can digitally alter them.... but i'm more curious about seeing them as 'mommies and daddies'! it was strange enough watching them behave like grown ups in the book, but to actually see them trying to control kids similar to what they themselves were, once and Harry's son James, who seems to have taken after Fred and George, will be PRICELESS!

@Chimera I wonder what they will do with the actors in the epilogue part too. I hope it’s not cheesy.
As for splitting all the movies into two parts I think that they should have split the goblet of fire its such a big book and they left out a lot. The first two movies didn’t leave a whole lot out from the books, not as much as the others anyway. I think they started leaving major stuff out with Prisoner of Azkaban. In my opinion anyway, I think they should have added some time on to some of the movies at least maybe made them 3 hours to not leave stuff out.

I think they’ll either try to age the actors for the epilogue which could get cheesy or maybe find actors that look similar to play them. Honestly the actors that play harrys mom and dad could play harry and ginny. Or actors that look similar to them.

Do you guys think they will have the part where Bill gets attacked by the Fenrir Greyback?

LadyTwilight, sometimes it's a budget thing why they can't expand the movie. I mean, die-hard fans would obviously go the entire way, but you can't really raise cinema tickets just to account for the extra cost incurred by an extra half-hour.

Re the Bill-Fenrir fight, I think it would still depend on the Bill/Fleur side story. And since we didn't even see Bill in GoF...

I guess we'll have to stick close to the casting news for more info, since the casted parts generally give us an idea of what scenes being in (even if they cut those scenes out occasionally, like young Lily being cut out of OotP, which is stupid, since SHE is the reason why it's Snape's worst memory in the first place).

@Aisling they could have done something like lord of the rings... released the extended versions on dvd later. I don't know. That's just me wishful thinking

I thought young Lily was in the flashback in order of the phoenix but very briefly? I'll have to rewatch it. I don't watch it that often because it bums me out haha. But I guess I better prepare myself for the sadder story lines that are too come.

According to IMDB Dave Legeno has been cast for Fenrir Greyback. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0417741/
But I didn't see Fleur or Bill on the cast character list. But sometimes I can stare straight at something and not see it, or maybe they haven't released that. I sure hope so. I hope they don't just cut all that out. A lot happens in the beginning of the dealthly hallows that involves the Bill-Fleur relationship, if you've read the books you know what i'm talking about. It's going to be stupid if they try to either just throw it in there or make those events happen at a different place.
Sorry if that sounds confusing I was trying to not spoil things for people that haven't read the books

Anyway some of the stuff the cut out is so stupid. It would take like one paragraph or even a sentence of dialogue to explain something and they just leave it out.

Nope. I just checked the cast list on IMDb. Young Sevvy and all four of the Marauders are cast, but young Lily's not on the list. Shame.

I think it's gonna be unlikely for them to include the side romance of Bill/Fleur in, esp with Harry following Draco around the school (hopefully) and Pensieve lessons and... Harry/Ginny? *huge grin*

I agree with so many other story lines that it will probably be left out. Highlight to Read:
But I just always pictured Fenrir as being like a meaner looking werewolf than lupin, since lupin is kind of scrawny when he changes in prizoner of azkaban so I wanted to see the attack on Bill haha. I think it's going to be weird if there's just all the sudden a wedding with fleur and bill in deathly hallows. Maybe they will at least mention them dating in dialogue bettwen different characters in this movie or something. That would help a little. Its going to be dumb if they cut out the wedding in deahtly hallows since that's when the ministry falls. I also can't wait harry ginny stuff YAY! I'm excited for the ron/hermione stuff too. Its going to be funny watching her get all jealous. I'm excited to see what they do with the lake scene too with all the bodies floating in it and what not.
As for Lily i could have swore there was a red head girl in those flashbacks. but maybe i'm totally imagining it. Sometimes when I read pictures and I've seen movie characters I actually dream scenes that didn't happen haha I'm weird. I shouldn't have admitted that. oh well.

i agree that they might mention bill/fleur in between the dialogues but they should have done that in OOTP too, it would have been in continuance with GOF and shown the growth in their relationship.

@Chimera, well good i'm glad i'm not the only one I was reading Eldest last month and I actually had a dream about reading a certain part of the book. In my dream I was literally just staring at the book reading and it had he same layout and stuff as the book. I didn't know I dreamt it I thought I just read it before I went to sleep and then I was talking to my mom about it and she's like 'that never happened' haha i'm like sure it did in chapter so and so. To which said 'um no' so I looked it up and it wasn't in there. It was the weirdest thing. And I have to say if that part I dreamed happen it would have been awesome

ugh ginny/harry. I think harry potter is the only series that made me want to rip out the epilogue, along with any other ginny/harry moments. Along with washing my brain out, and maybe use several eyedrop bottles.

Ok, my hatred of the canon (along with ron/hermione though not to the degree of ginny/harry) aside:

I am hoping the next movie is filmed more smoothly than the last. It seemed they had no idea what the heck they were doing, cutting here snipping there, and sew it up crudely together.

@KTC: to be honest, i don't like the ron/hermione pairings either. i hate the way ron treats hermione and it seems as if he doesn't respect her at all... ron and harry don't seem to value her as much as they should... ron doesn't deserve hermione... i've wanted to say this for a long time! i don't like the other pairings much either, but other than this, i totally LOVE the books and every paragraph, sentence, word in them! okay i think i'm getting a bit emotional here...

@LadyTwilight: sometimes i dream about parts from a book/movie which i am really obsessed about or which didn't happen but i really wanted them to... or sometimes when i lightly imagine the characters in a particular situation. for example: i once thought what would happen if the characters from LOTR visited the modern world and i dreamed about it! sometimes i dream myself interacting with the characters or being part of the story; either as myself or a character! talk about being obsessed with something!

I could've sworn I read this in some other pairing debate before.

@KTC: Is it just Ron/Hermione and Harry/Ginny, or do you not like canon pairings?

@aisling: lol, no i tolerate some of the other hp pairings. I don't think jk rowling can write romance, because most of the canon seemed really abrupt to me. There's no development. Just BAM! these two characters are together. There's not a hint or anything.

Like Bill/Fleur, tonk/lupin. I find them alright mostly, except they looked like they got hooked up for the sake of getting hooked up.

Hagrid/the big lady (whatever her name was) = only decent pairing I remember because there's at least some build up so it's not so abrupt.

(and than I go looking for HP fics with more development...*sigh and sulks in corner*)

Well KTC this isn't a romance book, so I think I can forgive her for that And, well, may I point out that most of the books are written in Harry's POV, and while he grows to be the man who defeats Voldy, Harry's very dense when it comes to romance.

@aisling: not much of excuse, seeing she was hitting hard with the ginny/harry kissing-fest last book and book 6. And I believe she mentioned that the so call love "hints" were so obvious that she might as well have whacked you with a frying pan labeled ron/hermione.

Also, the books were written in third person, not harry's pov, so, as the omnipotent/omniscent author, rowling could have obviously 'expanded' on several of those pairings instead of cutting corners with it. She had the space lol.

Than again, I was having issues about the books past book 5. I don't even remember 6. O.o;; 7 is mostly blocked from my brain due to the overload of ginny/harry moments. 123~4 were the best imo, they still had spark. 5 was the beginning of the end XD

As far as Ron not treating Hermione with respect, I think you have to keep in mind that they are children and teenagers in the book. I think they kind of realistic relationships for that age range. Boys are often jerks to the girls they like…kind of the whole boy pushing a girl down in a playground because he has a crush scenario. Plus they don’t romantically like eachother all through the books they are friends first. And friends often tease and pick on eachother. As for respect I think the boys do respect her, they know she’s the smart one in the book but because they are boys and her friend they tease her for it as well. I guess that’s how I viewed it. My husband and I are always teasing eachother and making fun of eachother but we love eachother too, I guess that’s how I view the ron/Hermione relationship being. And with Ginny and Harry I liked it because she had a crush on him since what the second book? It was kind of like you go girl hahaha. And I didn’t really like Cho, I found her annoying, so I was just thankfully he was with someone other than her.
As for the relationships being abrupt I think that’s somewhat realistic as well. There’s not a lot of time for romance when there’s a war going on. And even in RL couples do ‘hook up’ when there are horrible events going on, just to be with someone, as well as being in love. Sometimes a strong bond is created fast when things like war is going on. I mean if an evil guy were trying to take over the world and people were dying all around you, you’d probably want to have someone close to you as well. A slow building relationship would be kind of pointless to you if you thought you/or they could be murdered any day because of what side you were on.
Also I agree with Aisling it’s not a romance novel. I think readers would have been upset if she would have gone on and on in depth about the relationships, readers wanted to know what was going on with the good side and the bad side. The relationships were just little side notes to bring some lightness to the book. It would be depressing if all the characters just remained single, if the main characters couldn’t experience some normal teenager behaving in midst of all the horrible things going on, if none of the characters experience crushes of love, and all there was, was the battles and deaths and classes.

Ok end of rambling

Eh, my way of thinking is: if you're gonna write people together you better put something other than "oh, by the way. so and so got together" or not at all. It might not be a romance series, but rowling obviously wanted romance in it or she would have left it alone. Her way of executing that however is what bugs the heck out of me.

ginny/harry: yes SHE had a crush. He ignored her for 2-3 books than all of a sudden starts lusting after her? I think I'm really out of whacked with the whole crush thing since that seemed highly unrealistic to me. I could probably rant more, but since I would like to keep my blood pressure down would stop here and to prevent myself from ripping the epilogue out again.

And, just for fun: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tx1XIm6q4r4 XD

ok ok, i'll go back to my hole in the ground now. -.-zzz

i think i can consider their being teenagers but after a while you've got to attain some maturity, i mean this wasn't just in their early teens like when they were 13 or 14 but went on til they were 16. and btw i'm also a teen and i still consider the respect part in any relationship. and i agree that a bit of harmless teasing is fun but i didn't like the pitch to which it extended at some points in the book. i hated the way hermione was treated in HBP... but i guess i'm a bit over-sensitive. and they didn't romantically like each other till book two or three i would say but the parts which i didn't like went on beyond that, till the end of book six. in book seven of course there was not much time for that sort of thing to focus on. overall i felt that hermione was treated as bit of a doormat, at least in the later books. it was always her, after an argument or fight, who swallowed her feelings and let the matter be, the boys never went to her and apologize or try to be friends with her again; even when she was right.... this is just my over-all impression and may not be accurate (though i think it is ) because it's been a while since i read the books...

@KTC: very funny! i loved it when dumbledore came popping up in between snape's chatter!

I wasn't at all saying that teenagers are incapable of respect. So I hope you didn't get that impression from what I wrote at all. I think you have to have a certain maturity to have the kind of relationship respect that we're talking about. Some people obtain that really young in life, others don't. I think that Hermione was always the more mature one in the group and Ron was the least mature. So therefore I think it added to him not respecting her much. I do agree like she was treated like a doormat a lot. Kind of like she always figured everything out by reading etc and Harry always got all the credit. That always bothered me in the books not so much the relationships just that she wasn't the one getting the pat on the back. I think if she wasn't there doing her research they wouldn't have succeeded at all. But from a different point of view I can also see why the boys got annoyed with her from time to time and made fun of her occasionally she was kind of a know it all, and she was the only girl in the threesome so of coarse she's the more senstive/emotional one and being boys the don't completely understand where she's coming from. I wish rowling would have made the boys appreciate hermione a lot more than they did though. Even with the romantic relationships aside.

I hope I don't get in trouble for posting this here and not in spam haven but I really wanted to share it and for you guys to see it. It really made me laugh.
