Harry/Draco: Not that surprising. Considering they got the whole foeyay down to a fine art, it'd make sense to pair them. UST sells far more than canon.

And the HP fandom is weird. There are Draco/Whomping Willow fanfics, and I even read a Lucius Malfoy x Petunia Dursley one. People are messed up.

Romance in general is kinda an iffy thing to write about. It's hard to get "right". A lot of the time, it ends up being "pairing because author says so".

Though I guess I sound like a hypocrite since I read Hermione/Fleur over any other pairing lol. Though I blame that on reading some good fanfic for the pairing on a whim.

@daeva: sometimes they do (Draco/Harry) and other times they really don't (harry/basklisk).

I've actually found Hedwig/Sorting Hat pairings, and many others that makes absolutely no sense.

Though browsing through the list fanfics, it seemed that HoYay pairings are more popular than the het pairings. Makes me wonder if the fanfiction fandom is composed of mostly Yaoi fans.

Ergh, yaoi fans scare me more than regular fans for some reason.

Then again, considering Rowling seem to write man-to-man moments a heck lot more than man-to-woman, it kinda invites weird... thoughts in the fans

Considering most of the main/important/interesting characters are male, can you really blame them?

The only gay pairings that make any sense to me are Dumbledore/Grindelwald and Sirius/Lupin. I never noticed the latter until someone pointed it out to me, but every scene in which they're together it feels like there's something there. I don't ship them or anything, but in my headcanon there was certainly a relationship there, and when Sirius died then Lupin just went on and found a new someone, this time a woman named Tonks. OR he has her change into a man in their alone time. It works, I tell you!

There's something I've been wanting to know for a while. How big WAS the extent of Voldy's "reign" back in the scary heydays before Harry came along? Would someone in, like, China be all "oooh Voldemort! So scary! Noooooo!!!" too? In Africa?

I kinda got the impression that it was beyond the UK and probably in to Europe. But I don't think it reached beyond Europe.

Anyway, most Slyths are disappointed and angry at first, but then they either accept it or never show their face again, so either way it's an happy ending for all of us
