@ lovinlife- You'd be surprised at the effect parents have. My sister is a doctor because my mom wanted to be a doctor and made her interested in medicine from a young age.
Parents nurture kids and instill ideas at a young age that are hard to break

@theone:
you do realize that gay people raising kids aren't going to make the kids gay? That's like saying straight people raising kids are going to make them straight. Cuz you know, majority of gays/pansexual/bisexual/etc. had straight parents lol.

Gayness is something that YOU decide, or rather, YOUR SOUL....
It's like saying that in a family where only girls have been born, only girls WILL be born.

@theone, kids are influenced by their parents a lot, yes, but once they're Adults, parents have no right over them. They can go into different paths.
Even if you have gay parents, and you live with them, once you turn 18, you are a free bird. You can do whatever you want. You might/might not turn out gay like your parents because You have the freedom of choice. And all these gay/straight relationships are obviously with two consenting ADULTS. When you’re a kid, you’re still naïve, and have to be under your parents roof/control. And like KTC pointed out, all of us come from a male and a female – straight people who eventually become your parents, and would obviously want you to grow up like them, straight. But it’s your choice, you turn 18, you go to college, you fall in love, have sex whatever, with anyone, who you choose to be with. If you end up knocking at your parents door, when your 30, with your spouse, who happens to be the same gender as you, your parents can’t do anything ‘bout it, but welcome you in with your new wife/husband. A kid, and under your parents, has a lot to learn in life, and is too busy studying to even think ‘bout love/relationships lol, but once you are an adult, on your own, you have the freedom to opt. Parents do nurture us, and instill ideas into us, but we still got brains to learn, see, experience, experiment, and get influenced a lot by school, friends, the internet, TV, the neighborhood, random people, and can grow up to be total opposites to them.

Actually, it's noones choice who you fall in love with. Maybe you parents scold you if you turn ouyt gay, but what can that help? if you are 12 or 17 doesn't matter, you don't decide who you fall in love with.
Love is one of the few things you are alone to.

Parent's shouldn't even scold their kids for being gay.
You can't choose to be gay/straight/bi/etc. You simply are. And if you decide that even as a straight person, you want to hide as a gay person or be in denial, eh that's your decision. (see wat I did there? lol)

I switched it up on purpose for the heck of it lol.
Gay/closeted people hiding as straight = usually the case. closeted straight people hiding as gays = eh? where? (though I see this a lot in yuri manga its not even funny anymore. Hence I get super excited when I see manga that doesn't end like this.)

Straight->gay: nowhere lol, but there must be some.
Went to wiki and typed yuri this is what I got – “Yuri is a common first name in several languages, with alternately masculine and feminine denotations depending on the specific culture. In Russia, for example, it is a common male given name meaning 'George' (Юрий as well as farmboy , while in Japan it is a traditional female name meaning 'lily' (百合/ゆり/ユリ, and in Korea, it is also a female name meaning 'glass' (유ኑ). It is also a fairly commonplace feminine given name in some Spanish-speaking countries. Yuri may also refer to:” ? Oh wait lol, you have the meaning, lesbian manga. Right, k lol. Heh, funny isn’t something anyone would consider while watching any kind of romance manga/film/cartoon, ya’ know. And I don’t think anyone regardless of whether you’re straight/gay would laugh over a yuri manga either. I never get excited over any kind of mangas, whatever they are (and donno why) ![]()

wrong yuri. just check out the link i gave
![]() yeah, lesbian manga. Many of them end up 'girl is just playing at gay' or 'it's a phase' so it gets really irritating. it's not even Funny anymore = slang. It means 'this sucks' in a nutshell lol. The way I used it means 'this really sucks' XD

It’s a manga, what do you expect? lol you could only see all the happy endings, getting married etc. in films :p
Lol, for some weird reason those kind of mangas are kinda freaky than sucky if you compare them to the movies xD

@lovinlife: it's one thing if only one or two are like that.
It's something else entirely if a majority of the yuri manga ends up being depressing. And just cuz its manga doesn't mean it has to end sadly. Most shoujo mangas, or least the ones imported to US, (hana kimi, imadoki, fruits basket, fushuigi yuugi, ceres, Girl got game, W juliet, and a bunch more) end happily. Fortunately, its changing now so there's more happy endings. If I wanted to read something depressing, I only need to look into a newspaper lol.

As KTC said, gay marriage will probably happen in US but in Asia? Nope.
Funny thing though when I lived in Philippines is that you can see gays everywhere: tv, street, school etc, heck you probably AT LEAST have one gay cousin! And yet it is a very religious country. Now that I live in Hong Kong, I rarely/never(?) see any gay, and I only saw one gay in tv and he's only a minor character.

@ Ivanna- Never ever is there going to be gay marriage in Asia. People are too conservative, too religious for this to happen. Impossible. But even in Europe, in countries like France and Italy, I doubt this will happen

@ivana, It’s not like all 49 states are perfectly fine with gay marriage or anything – there’s proposition 8 and even prop 22 existed.
I’m not even sure how Ellen and Portia got married in the state of California. @theone, Gay marriage didn’t just pop out of nowhere. People fought for the rights of it, and it took years on years for them to actually triumph those rights & still in most places, it isn’t tolerable. So, perhaps Asia, Italy does have hope if they try coming to blows for it. @KTC, don’t watch yuri manga much ![]()

@lovinlife: ellen/portia got married when gay marriage was legal. Their marriage is still valid under grandfather clause (ie, any marriage before prop 8 are valid)
as for yuri manga: wat? but its so awesome (well, certain mangakas anyway. *fanboys over Milk Morinaga* Love her work...even the outlier one with blood, gore, and other strange stuff.)

I realized that people being gay isn't what people call a "nature mistake".I am not gay,but I support them.In the original Bible, was written like this, people: "Knowing true love isn't a sin,no what what that love is.Everybody deserves to know true love."Even if priests changed this, with time,(God forgive me for saying that),some people find that little thing and change their view.I used to hate gays, but now, after I saw how the things actually are,I don't hate them.I understand them.More or less, whatever. The fact is that people don't hate them consciously, because of their fear, what is called xenophobia. The fear of the things strange to you.But you'll notice,if you have the same experience as me,that love has many forms, mostly which you don't even thought of,and that what you thinks it's a strange thing to you, you'll notice that is very common.*chuckle* *giggle* And no,again,I'm not gay.I have a girl which I like, and I tend to purr when I'm near her.And to eliminate misunderstandings:
Purr:The sound made by most of the felines when are happy.
