There are.If you would be lesbian,to say it,and hold your hand with another girl on the street,some odd looks will be thrown at you.To understand what I am talking about,you should read Fur Piled.Google it.Few people here already finished reading it and liked it.

I read a bit a of it. The yaoi one in fact. But I still don't get how it can fear. Let's come back to the real world and not that of Fur Piled. People can hate someone for being different and even PRETEND to fear them to make others side with their opinion. But FEAR them for real is actually quite stupid.

There are many homophobics in the world. Just see the religious organsations

Homosexuals are an unknown that don't fit into any neat box. Here's one possible thought process: They aren't straight so they must not be human because all humans are straight. Since they are not human they must be monsters to protect against.

It doesn't make sense, but as mopiece said, fear often isn't rational at all.

I don't go out of my way to read anthros, and I'm not going to start now especially since I have a really short attention span. Also, I doubt gays/bisexuals/transexuals are happier than straight people. They got just as many problems as straight, with the added problem of differing sexuality. Sounds like more angst and pain to me.

@klaus: i may not be one but I've got gay friends and I hear stories from survivors: lets just say not everything they tell me or the stories are happy.

Also, I find it absurd that you need to be part of the sexuality/race/gender/etc. in order to claim to know something of it. Do I need to be depressed in order to recognize the conditions of depression? Do I need to be terminally ill in order to understand that a patient lashing out is just reacting?

No, I don't. I do my research, get first handed accounts if I can, and I listen. I may not experience it first hand but my points are valid.

Anyways, I'll put down my opinion because it's changed since since the last time I've posted in this thread (and so I'm not spamming XD): Gay people are cool. I'll not dwell on anything but who they are, because I don't honestly care about their sex life. It's a non-issue, in my opinion, and we shouldn't let it define anyone. It's not like a straight person's identity is founded on their sexuality, so why should a gay person's be? Sexuality is only a small part of a person, and I feel that, like race, it needs to simply stop being an issue for there ever to be true equality. There shouldn't be a need for 'coming out', because it's not as though a straight person has to 'come out'. Gay people are like any other people. In fact, I'll stop using that term. I don't want to recognize people as 'gay', because that undermines their individuality and gives them a label that no one should have to undertake. Everyone is a person, and that's enough for me.

Oh, and gay marriage? I don't feel like I have the right to an opinion on that because I'm not a homosexual and therefore I would be infringing upon their rights. It only affects them, and so I don't feel like I should judge whether they should have that or not.

@klaus: I know your post is old, but how can you say that the homosexual community is happier than the straight 'community'? Besides KTC's points (also from long ago XD), how would you know how happy straight people are if KTC can't know how happy homosexuals are? It's a strange double standard.

However gay marriages is sumthin i disapprove of....bt i dn't have any ryt to tell anyone to stop it or it should be banned.....unless i m president ofcourse... Whether straight communities r happier or nt...is sumthin we cannot comment on without research...or observation atleast....

In the end:- Gay marriages should be allowed all over the world? if religion doesn't allow it nd u fiercely believe in the afterlife then it should nt be in those countries.
