So, which guild would be best to join in the long run?

I think it's really an opinion on which is best, but after playing the game and seeing each guild, I find having Lars be a Necromancer is the best.

I've only been a Necromancer, but found that the spells Lars learns from it come in handy in boss fights, and in long fights with strong enemies!

Necromancer is my favorite (hmm...i wonder why...XD)

Necromancer gives you all sorts of status-altering spells--Plague is by far one of my favorite spells of all time ^^ if you practice it long enough, eventually it will always hit (or, 99% of the time anyways)

The spell likelihood increases with practice? That's the first I've heard of that...

that's what it did with me at least--i've heard the same thing about Tei'jal's sleep, too. i use plague all over the place, and yet my decompose is weak, i'm guessing because i don't use it. *shrug* just something i noticed.

Yes i agree with tei ^_^ The necromancer guild is amazing! the spells are very strong In my opinion you should make Lars become a necromancer.

All of them look appealing in some way, but the ones that have my attention are Annihilator and Time Mage. I prefer to just plain kill stuff than use status effects.

The time master guild is a good one.

Time Master and Annihilator. If you are patient enough, then Time Master is great. The spells are strong, though they need a LOT of MP. And they can whack enemies in single cast!

But if yoou need s guild quickly, then Necromancer is the best. They use more status-altering spells, though...

Time Master sounded the most appealing to me so I always joined it, but the spells just don't seem to be very strong... And Annihilators' guild casts mostly fire/earth spells and thus might not be very good against the wyverns in Ahriman's Lair. Necromancers is out of the question, I never join dark guilds because the final boss and his lackeys are always dark-elementaled so it won't work very well. And I don't want to join Elite Mage, Lars seems elitist enough.

No, necromancer is the best because all their spells are full of status effects. Plague works fine on Ahriman, and so the other spells. With necromancer, I just did fine on his castle.

Really? Most of the daevas seem completely immune against time-manipulating... It seems sad.

Yep, that's why I reccomend Necromancers - status effects rock. <3 Especially Plague.

I agree with MC! In every Aveyond,I used to be only Necromancer! ^^ It has very powerfull spells :3

I've tried both Annhiliator and Necromancer and I found the Necromancer's spells to be a lot more effective due to the status changes too!

From the description of the spells, it looks like:

Necromancer - Poison-type status effects. It gives the impression of cursing and poisoning the enemies.
Elite Mage - Mental status ailments (Charm, berserk, etc). It gives the impression of "sneaky" and "stealthy".
Annihilator - Big damage fire and earth spells. It gives the impression of "mass destruction"
Time Master - Time and Space spells. It gives the impression of not killing the enemies directly by destruction, but rather indirectly.
