Hi everyone, I released an upgrade patch last week so that non-Amaranth Games folks could play the new version of the game. There were problems, and I found that the upgrade requires changes to the game's executable.

Because the executable cannot be changed without causing the game to crash (due to different sites using different encryption to protect software), I've pulled the upgrade.

At this point, the only thing I can do is send the new game to all of the sites where you purchased your games. Some will take the change, some will not because the game is a couple of years old. I'm sending the upgraded game to the portals this week. It's up to them to take it or ignore it. Please contact the portal where you purchased the game and request the upgrade... If they know that their players want the new version of the game, it increases the chance that they will carry it.

For folks who purchased from Amaranth Games, simply re-download the game from this site and install. You won't need to re-enter your key.

I wish I had seen this post before, I purchased Aveyond from Yahoo just to be able to play Build C, just before I saw this! Can't anything be done? I really want to play Build C and I'll do anything like changing files or whatever, manually, no matter how hard or time-taking... I know that the patch worked for some people, automatically or after they made some changes... (from the previous thread)

I'd suggest you email Yahoo and let them know there's a new version that's just been released, and plead with them to take it when it's available.

Luckily I still had the installation application from the Upgrade Patch I had downloaded, so I installed it and removed some extra files and renamed the game application (I had read in the Patch Available thread that doing so had upgraded some people's games) and now Build C is working on my computer! It has been working perfectly so far!

But I am still going to e-mail Yahoo and request them to upgrade.

How will we know if the place we downloaded the game from accepted the new Build or not? I am praying Reflexive does... I will rebuy the game just for that ending, I swear.. X3

lol - if you would rebuy the game, why not just buy it from here? Then you'd be guaranteed you could download any NEW builds (not that any are being planned) in the future.

I can check with Reflexive and see if they will take it. I'll let you know when I find out.

Yep, I imagine that we would [take the upgrade]. We always like it when the developer updates their game, even an "older" one.

I'm told as soon as they get the upgrade, they'll make it available. If you go to their Arcade page and search for Aveyond, you'll notice an "Updates" tab. They have already listed the update from build A to B (it may not be called that there) that happened a couple of years ago, and as soon as you see a new entry there, you'll know it's ready to download.

lol - sorry guys. I know a couple of people at Reflexive, so I don't mind emailing them or posting on their forum asking. I don't have any contacts at other portals. If you're regular customers of those companies, you have a better chance of an answer than I do. I suggest you do what I did - visit their forums, say there's an upgrade available, and ask if they will accept it.

Just wanted to let everyone know that I emailed Yahoo Games, and they sent me this email:

I know the Yahoo! Production team is looking into getting Build C for Aveyond. We are still waiting on the developer to deliver the new build to us. As soon as we have the release, we will make it available for download!

So hopefully they will have it soon!

Oh darn, Reflexive still hasn't upgraded has it? I visited the site and checked Aveyond's upgrade and it showed only the upgrade in 2006

They probably forgot to update that section, since if you download it you'll get AV1 Build C.
