Since I've made litterary studies and I'm always been interested in foreign langages, I would like to improve my English and take advantage of the fact that most of my fellow DL are english spoken to do that

On top of that, it can be interesting to compare some origins of words or terms, regarding the fact that English and French are sometimes linked with in certain ways...

Basset, I know that you are good in that, so if you don't mind, don't hesitate to correct all the mistakes I will make here or there, it will help me to learn and be better, I hope
Same for all the others naturally

What I propose to you all is not only to put here specifications, but perhaps also some interesting informations about the langage itself or comparisons between English and French.

If anything else seemed to be interesting to add there, feel free to talk about it, since there is no specific rule except the fact of improving the knowledge of the langages and discussing only about these langages and their specifications/relations/links and no other subject

Cat, the word 'know' is synonomis with the words below which do convey that kind of relationship. To 'know' Jesus, or to 'know' your mate indicates a very intimate relationship. It is that context I was looking at with the motto. Only you can 'Know'Dagondux. Only I can 'Know'George.

So often there is a lot of meaning in words that we loose in translation. Languages are so rich with meaning, do you have a french word that conveys the same as our word KNOW? in the sense described above?
