I'm completely stuck in the Berkeley ice cave. I'm going around in the same circle over and over again, and I've only managed to turn two of the blue lamps to red (via the pointer puzzle and the boulder). I've got the rope but can't find anywhere to use it. Any tips?

Try using it at the tuft of grass in the main room (the one with the lamps).

I think you can head down to Cumberland after you're denied access to Burlington i.e after completing the first 3 bounty hunter jobs from Lauren. A guy in Branchville who wasn't there earlier (the one that literally blocks your way..lol) hints about it. Once there, Vance's mom will do the needful

Ah thanks
![]() Ok. This really sucks. I'm doing the escorting job and I'm at this diamond tile thingy where you put the tile on the correct places and it will transport you to the other side... whenever I try to restart and press the floor to put the tile, there's no message! Is this some kind of a bug?? ![]()

That's weird... dunno if it's a glitch or not coz it worked fine for me
Try reloading and see if it happens again. Here is the solution if you need it: Place the first Diamond Tile on the only space you can. Then place another tile on the southern space. Finally, place another tile on the tile in the southwest corner of the area it takes you. Then head east.

Seeing this thread makes me want to replay this game for the fourth time. It's amazing that one person made a game this large with so much optional content and secrets.
Pretty much the biggest reveal in the game is very hidden and very easy to miss [spoiler] Finding Teachy the Discordian is one pain in the ass unless you have the levitate book and kanna in your party (in which case you can get to him in seconds) but totally worth it. And he's the dragon that kidnapped that bad singer (from an optional sidequest) which was funny. Beating the other KBs make you think that Marion isn't the nicest person but Teachy tells you just how sick and twisted she is. Having kids with Ramseur for the purpose of having one kill the other and become king to maintain her own twisted sense of balance? Personally I consider her the most evil character in the story. The KBs are physical representations of evil so they're evil by nature and Duke Greene was warped into what he became but Marion chooses to be twisted. Also pretty cool was Ramseur's cutscene. Him making the Kibou sword Carolus used to kill Olanta. Love the quote, 'I brought you here to see if you were worthy of holding the Kibou, the sword made of, for and by my own pleasure and power' and 'And one mere man is supposed to provide hope for an entire kingdom by the power of his own might? That sort of thinking by Carolus... is the exactly same thing that gives Ramseur the Stratifier power in the first place! The same power that created the Kibou.' Biggest wtf moment was the 5th KBs secret. Really didn't expect Catawba to be North's fiance and its also really heavily implied that she's Fayette's mother. As Carolus was half-KB and born for him to become the new king, it makes sense for Fayette to be one too considering how much the Govan want her to be queen.

OMG kids with HIM?! I've defeated Teachey but never heard him saying that... (or it's either I got a bad memory)
Actually her being his fiance didn't really shocked me for some reason And how was it 'heavily implied' that she's her mom? I'm sorry but when I played the game I beat her so I didn't know much about the alternate ending if she was alive... Oh and that Ramseur cutscene... was it in the ruins? Can't seem to remember

To be exact during the Teachy cutscene [spoler] after Marion and Ramseur make the deal Marion tells him to go to Durham Valley and that they were 'going to be spending a lot of time together.' Later after Carolus kills his sister he tracks her down and calls her mother and asks how she could still be alive given as he saw the dead bodies of his whole family. She's his mother and its pretty much given that Ramseur is his father. Total setup to make him king.
Now for Catawba, lots of little hints that when taken together makes it pretty implied. 1) Fayette thinks she smiles like her mother, same manerisms, etc. 2) She tells North after she is revealed as pretending to be his fiance (which was all a plan to keep him away from Ormus the Ravager whose kind of a polar opposite to her) that she had done this type of thing before and it had worked out well ( 3) If you keep her alive when she enters Duke/Duchess room she remarks, 'Same as always' or something like that and generally seems as little too familar with Fayette 4) The other KBs say stuff like her spending a lot of time in Burlington and all her relationships with the party (North and Vance would be 2 of them) 5) It would fit with the idea that Marion wants half-KB on throne. Considering its implied she had half-KB kid instead of picking random person it makes it sound like being half-KB is important. And I think there's some other stuff that I can't quite remeber now. Taken all together there's quite a bit pointing to her being Fayette's mother, through it's never explicity said so. Green's ducy Dillon and Fayette's Burlington have the opposite philosophies and both leaders think of each other as being evil. Personally I think Dillon = Ormus, Burlington = Catawba. Ramseur's cutscene is when you fight him in the ruins. For the leader of the KB he's a total joke and massive AI roulette battle, either he uses useless abilities or he spams his ultimate spell repeatedely (and even when he does this he's still easy to beat). The real challenge is just getting to him. That crystal puzzle there is very satisfying to finish.

Have you tried the strategy by Sage of the Wise?
Quote: Ok, the fighting pit is really easy once you understand the coding and how rpgmaker works. Pretty much you score when you are next to them and hit the enter key, and they score when they move into the square your in. Except, due to how rpgmaker works, if you hit enter while facing them, that also triggers their hit code, so they still get a score. So the key is to know its perfectly ok for them to just be next to you, and to never face them while attacking. After that you just need to know their movement patterns:

Yeah I did but for some reason I can hit both Rowland and Morven when I'm next to them (not face-to-face) but when I did that when Kenley it won't hit him at all and he keeps getting two points until I lose. I managed to get two points at max and I need to hit him face-to-face

OK I'm at Campobello and ARGH!!! I can't decided if I should take the ferry or Arcadia route >_< I think the Arcadia one is the BEST because you get to recruit with North and Clifton faster and you'll have that levitating Grimorum for Kanna and you can collect all of the Rune Tablets (I think) but I've already went that route before...
And the ferry route is... well... I think it's too 'boring' even though it's 'story-wise' >_< Arghhhh I can't choose!!! >-<

True, gameplaywise Arcadia path is the best. But if you haven't checked out the Ferry one earlier, I suggest opting for it. You may be in for a suprise
![]() Not only would you get to meet Roper (additional PC) who's quite an interesting character but also 'missing' pieces of story will be revealed. It's up to you ![]()

In terms of rewards the Arcadia route is cleary the best route to take. It's unforunate that the routes are so slanted in favour of one of them.
Arcadia route: You get to kill B&M for all the stuff they stole from you and get Kanna the levitation grimoire. This let's you get all sorts of secret goodies. Also allows you to get to Teachy without needing to walk around randomly (well that's how I find him when I don't have the book, if you got the book you just need to take every leftmost [or rightmost, can't remember which direction now] passage and you end up in front of a chasm over lava. Kanna floats you over and you just go straight to Teachy). You get a bit of plot in this route too. Ferry route: You get a new character going this route. Roper isn't too useful through imo, and I think you need to choose between taking her or Clifton at the very end if you also got Tatum in your party. The main reason to take this route is because there is a lot of plot here and shows you how screwed up Greene really is. Mountain route: The worst route to take. Any loot you find walking up the mountain you can get backtracking on the other routes (and there's nothing that's really good) Also, I think this is the only route where you have to Greene with only 3 party members. You're rewarded with a nothing good, little plot and a very hard fight. The only thing great about this route is the scene after you beat Greene. Matteo popping out behind Greene at the end and 1-shotting him and Vance commenting to himself, 'Typical, trying to make Matteo look more badass by finishing Greene' or something like that. Hilarious. Overall, take Arcadia if you want the best in game rewards and ferry route is you want plot. Go mountain route only if you want to clear the route once and see what there.

Actually, I've taken all routes but ended my game with the Arcadia one. And you can always have Roper even if you haven't taken the ferry route. (by beating Orrum of course)
So yeah I'm taking the ferry route >.< lmao I still managed to get the long sword and derrancivil-something essence in the Colerain mountain and still get to go the ferry route xP
