Yeah it comes out the fourteenth/fifteenth at midnight. Some theaters are having a marathon of the previous film though. I think it's just AMC theaters.

I'll probably wait until it's been out a couple weeks, or until it's on Blu-ray. It's just not worth it to me to put up with the crowds around here.

@iPink: In Belgium it comes out the thirteenth.
But in UK I heard it was the fiftheenth o.O (or at least that's what the hosts of the premiere yesterday said...)

TGWTG's Anniversary movie, Suburban Knights, kinda ruined the drama. They had a final battle that has the same vibe of Harry Potter's final battle and now i don't think I can take Harry Potter seriously.

For an amateur movie Suburban Knights is pretty dang awesome, though. And better yet, it's free! I love TGWTG's anniversary movies and this one is by far the best one yet.

I went to see the midnight screening of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Pt. 2 in my town. I was rather excited; after all, this was the "end," and it was supposed to be an impressive conclusion. And it was, at times, but nevertheless a disappointment more often than not. I will start by saying that the preparations for the Battle of Hogwarts were absolutely astonishing. They were done exactly right, and Professor McGonagall's role in this movie is one of its best points. There was also more information regarding different sections of the HP universe (Neville and Luna DO get together) that, since they did not interfere with the book, were canon. However, the epic scale of the first half cannot be upheld for long, with the ending sequences quite limited in their scope (almost as if they ran out of budget by the end of their filming). The storyline is outright contradictory to the book far too often, and my sister, who has only read through the first four books (and a half) was confused. I would have been confused as well if I had not read the books, and as a fan of the books, I was mostly disappointed in how it did not follow them. It's certainly not a bad movie, and totally worth a watch (especially for an HP fan that would like to get a few of the interesting tidbits left out of the books), but it's not worth the hype. And, at the close of the movie, I didn't feel like anything but a movie had ended.

I saw the hp movie in 3D at the IMAX theater in town and it was neat to see all of the special effects in the battles and castle. The 2nd part seemed to hit the majority of the main plot points with some normal movie dramatization. It was insane that so many of the shows were sold out, but watching in the theater was a good experience. The audience was very charged and loudly supported the "good" characters winning and other moments.

I loved seeing HP7 part 2. I saw it in 2D (thank God there wasn't 3D).
There were a lot of powerful parts and the acting level seems to have risen even higher. Some things were changed like the last duel between Voldemort and Harry and I missed the House elves and centaurs part in the war.
It was weird seeing the 19 years later scene and finally realising it's all over... I'll miss it ^^ I used to go watch the new HP movie for my birthday. But well... I'm looking forward to the pottermore site.

I was sad they didn't include the scene where Harry mends his first wand - the holly with phoenix feather - with the Elder Wand before wrecking it. I thought it was a sweet moment and I wanted it to be on screen.

Anyways, I oddly feel like there's LOLwhut fanservice aplenty, but then again it's probably just me. The book IS riddled with fanservice to begin with so...

I saw Captain America: (The First Avenger) today. I enjoyed it, to an extent (although by the finish I was hoping it would end soon), but the villain was not great and the main actor was, while likable, was not spectacular. The saving grace was the female lead (I can't recall her name), who was not only pretty but also really cool. Unfortunately she will not be in any sequels or anything -- she's either dead or extremely old by the end of the movie and the time we get to present day, and without ever any real relationship with Captain America. It's really stupid and annoying. >.<

Just finished watching the God of Gamblers 1-3 (Chow Yun Fat as main character), the "Knight of Gamblers" (Andy Lau) and the "Saint of Gamblers" (Stephen Chow). The other two are spin-offs of the first one.

It's in Cantonese btw but there's still english subs (even though not very accurate). After watching Stephen Chow's "Fight Back To School" series, I was hoping to watch another comedy but I was mistaken and watched GoG instead. Totally got hooked on it, especially the fighting scenes by Dragon! ^_^

GoG is one of the very few movies that the sequel is actually better than the original (not saying that the first one sucked ). Definitely an HK classic.

Recently watched Ugly Truth for the lulz. It made me so ill and angry I just... That was so infuriatingly dumb, even for a chick flick.

One thing I can say to that movie, though: Gerard Butler, for the love of movies, STICK WITH GRIM AND GRITTY ROLES. You're already awful enough in those, but you're way worse in chick flicks!

watched legend of the guardians. Surprisingly enjoyed it. What even surprised me more was that I actually liked all the good characters, even the main dude. Still like the side characters more than him, but that's a better record than a lot of movies recently.

My fav characters is the nurse snake and glyfie. How the heck did food (aka snake) become the nursemaid? lol. Also, she's the only snake I know who actually likes heights.

Glyfie is awesome. So tiny yet so fiesty. <3

@d_a

I think the only movies I liked Gerard Butler in was 300 and Law Abiding Citizen. But you're right, he really needs to stick to just action type movies.

@KTC

I want to see that movie. I'm going to have to see if Netflix has it.

though probably should be more selective on action movies cuz Gamer made no sense at all. And it had a weird musical number! wtheck?

@Mopiece: I thought he was pretty good in Phantom of the Opera. The only role I ever liked him in.

Law Abiding Citizen was cool. Ditto KTC on Gamer. Tried to watch it but it only serves to give me a headache trying to watch it At least it didn't make me ill, though. Ugly Truth was... uurrrggghh
