There you go - The harsh life story from beginning to end of one seemingly minor character of Ahriman's Prophecy - Vel, the only name that she had even known herself by. She didn't have it easy, at all...
CHAPTER ONE I ran through the rain, splashed through the puddles, and breathed in gulps of damp air. I ran, and ran, and ran. In my right hand, I clasped a silver dagger, stained crimson with blood - in my left, a small bag of my belongings and some spare gold stolen from my parents and sister - now lifeless, gone and departed. I killed them. I killed all of them. Now in the pit of my stomach was full of dread, yet still filled with a slight surge of ecstasy. Tears streamed down my dirt-stained face, my straggly black hair loose on the back of my neck. What have I done? It's self-defense, I told myself. They tried to kill me first. "That child is cursed." I've overheard them saying that several times. Even though I am now five, I still wasn't named at all. I didn't have a name. A cursed child doesn't have a name. I am cursed. Only a child cursed will murder her parents and sister in such cold blood. I don't even remember what I had been thinking at that time - just kill, kill, kill, and I think I actually enjoyed it. I gripped on the blade so tightly my palms bled. I am cursed. Cursed by the devil, and I am now murderous, sinful, greedy... Despicable. I am not a child of this world. I am not a child of Aia. I am a child of the devil, a humanoid construction made by the Cursed Ones and put into this world as a seemingly harmless child. My parents were not wrong. I am cursed. If I continue to live, I will continue to destroy, and kill without humanity, without thinking... I can't kill anymore. It has to end here before I get out of control again. I gripped the dagger, and looked again at the shiny red droplets, and let my tears fall. Everything was wrong. I squeezed my eyes shut, and held the dagger to my heart, ready to end everything, before I hurt someone else important to me... I won't let my tainted, cursed self harm this world any longer... "What do you think you're doing, girl?" And that's when I met him. I lifted my drenched head, and looked at his towering figure. He was completely dressed in black, with black hair and a black robe. Only the golden crown on his head shimmered slightly in the dark night. ----- Hope you all enjoyed it! I just felt like writing about a minor character's life and I felt Vel was the perfect person to write about, so yeah. Hope you like it! ![]()

@Everyone: Thanks for the comments, I'm continuing!
![]() CHAPTER TWO That was when my life truly began. He told me, he was just like me. Cursed, abandoned. He was never viewed as a normal child, ever since that time when he had tried to resurrect a dead wolf, he told me. His brother was really horrible, he told me that too. And he had tried to kill his brother. Unlike me, he failed. He was exiled - now in this forsaken place, all he had left was the crown his angered parents forgot to claim back. He told me how horrible his life had been. He was the same as me. He was at least ten years older, but he was just like me. "What is your name?" he finally asked me. In the night, I still could see his pale face, etched with sadness and sorrow, pain and grief. His midnight black hair shone in the sky, his robes were drenched. Even thought he was so horribly pained, he still wanted to help me. I couldn't help but shed a tear. In return, I told him about myself. I was just the same as him. I shook my head. I have no name. Ever since my birth, my parents did not want to name me. They were stunned with horror when I was born, an ugly baby, who clawed at her mother and hissed. She did not cry when born like other babies. She hissed like a snake. Cursed. And now, I wasn't ugly. I don't think I am. But now, even though I'm just five... I struck my family down with a dagger, a bloodied dagger, still held in my right fist. "You don't have a name?" his words pierced my thoughts. That time, I could barely know what he was saying. I just shook my head. But he ruffled my hair with one hand and smiled at me. It was the first time somebody smiled at me. All my life, only people had stared at me with gazes of fear and hatred. The cursed child. But I wasn't "The Cursed Child" of Dyuti Village to him. Even though I was only five, and he was about fifteen... he looked at me as an equal. We were the same. He showed the light of my life to me. He opened my eyes and let me see the world for myself, for once. He was my life, and everything in that life... And his name was Zorom of Candar.

![]() CHAPTER THREE He was the one who gave me my first ever name. "I'll call you Veluna," said Lord Zorom, back facing me in his temporary cave hideout. The 5-year-old me stood there, not really understanding his words. "Veluna is a really beautiful type of glass," continued Lord Zorom, finger on his nose, "It is a type of glass that gives off a faint glow in the dark. It's really beautiful. Just like that time when I found you in the rainy night. You stood out between the rocks and the trees." "Ve-lu-na?" I tried to pronounce. Zorom chuckled, and I turned back to playing with his crown on the table. That was how he had been taking care of me, all through my youth. He was my savior. It had been five years. Five years have passed since Zorom had found me in the rain. I turned ten, and Zorom was twenty. Now I watched from the slightly ajar door leading to Zorom's self-built castle's topmost floor, where Lord Zorom and a dark priest where performing a ritual. It was an elegant ritual. The dark priest waved his staff at a flame, chanting words that I do not understand. Zorom was standing opposite him, a few feet away, barely able to contain his smirk. He glanced towards me, and immediately changed his smirk to the soft, gentle smile I've always known. When the ritual was completed, suddenly, a great blue lump of jelly-like substance appeared in between Zorom and his priest. The blue slime-slug wriggled. Zorom smiled. "Veluna, you may come in now," he called. I staggered slowly into the room, staring in disgust at the blob in the centre of the ritual hall. "Do you know what that is, Veluna?" he asked. I shook my head. "It's the first step in our ritual. It's the first form of our Lord Ahriman. He was an emperor who died thousands of years ago, and he had extraordinary power. On the thirteenth night, Veluna... he will reach the zenith of his power, and his full form will be revealed. " I stared at the blob of goo. It's hard to believe something as disgusting as that could be a great emperor lord. "And what's the point of that, my lord?" I blurted out. Zorom smiled serenely at me, and suddenly grabbed my shoulders. I gasped in pain. "Veluna," he whispered, barely able to contain his excitement. "We can't live in this world anymore, the world where everyone thinks we are cursed. Since I'm the one who resurrected Ahriman, he would be my servant. He would be our servant. And with his extraordinary power, we can destroy this forsaken world where everyone is biased against us. We did nothing wrong. Veluna - let's build a new world together, where our status both change from the exiled cursed children to the rulers of our new world." I flinched. I didn't know what I thought at that moment. Zorom let go of my shoulders, and I staggered backwards. Then his head was bowed for a moment, and he suddenly burst out in hysterical laughter, which rang through the entire hall... And just like that, yet another three years passed, with Master Zorom fearlessly fighting his way to his dreams, with me by his side. I became thirteen.

Yup. But in this chappy, he started acting like a madman. Hu. He's one of my most loved characters in AP. If he just isn't a bad character.

I like Zorom quite a lot as well. It's just that I think that'll be a nice change for his character. He's not a madman. He's just ambitious. *cough*read Macbeth?*cough*

Macbeth? I heard of it and read the summary. And yeah, sorry I forgot that the proper word is ambitious.

Cool chapter 3, Kirroha - great writing. This makes all that "ambition" seem to have a better foundation.
