well, i'm a bit disappointed right now. not even a quarter of the way through...

but, maybe i have missed a lot. are all the quests in my journal completable in this chapter?
i'll just have to start again, make sure i rest more often, and build the bank account...

i love it really, just upset i've reached the end in only 3 days..

Only two quests are not completable in Lord of Twilight.

Lord of Twilight is part one, and Gates of Night is part two, of the Orbs of Magic series. There will be other chapters to follow in the same series. So yes, they'll be the same game, and with each new chapter, you'll pick up right where the last one left off.

I thought about this issue for a bit, and I think I understand why the Game was divided into chapters.

Since BFG now charges 6.99 for a game, it's unfair to Amaranth Games, and therefore, this is why the game was divided into two chapters.

But dividing the game into chapters has upset some fans(not me).

So this is my suggestion:

Continue making chapters for BFGs ie Chapter 1, 2.


BUT..

On YOUR website, sell the entire game (no chapters) but at Full Price.

This way, BFGs can sell their chapters for 6.99, but here at Amaranth, you can charge the full amount.

Just an idea.

But at the same time, how many folks would even know about the AV series if not for distributors like BFG? I found Amaranthia.com from looking up the developer after playing AV2, which was recommended to me after I finished an Azada game, which was featured on BFG! Now Amanda's site does for smaller game developers what BFG did for Amanda. Is BFG evil for undercutting prices? Yes, but still a necessary evil.

Yes, I agree that portals like BFG are a necessary evil. This is why I suggest that Amaranth keep the Chapters for BFG because economically for them, it makes sense to divide the game up into chapters.

However, there's no need to sell chapters on the Amaranth Game site when they can sell it for full price.

This is true. I didn't know about amaranthia until I went looking for a game website and found shockwave. I found aveyond game, played it and absolutely loved it. Then after being on there I saw in the comments to visit this site and fell absolutely in love with amaranthia. I think its a good thing the games are available on other websites, but now that I'm here I prefer to buy the aveyond games from this website. I don't have a bfg account, but am planning to get one cause I think they're cheaper and a bit better than shockwave now. I still will buy the aveyond games from this website though cause I'm getting them at the source and I feel like I'm contributing to something great. It's just a couple bucks different and at the chapter rates its a mesely couple bucks.

The problem with selling them to BFG as chapters while selling only the full game here is that BFG would have the first part of the game long before we here would get it ... not good.

Yes,the second chapter, will be released, according to Amanda, some time in July, could also be late July or early August.

I don't think it will be delayed. But, you never know. Maybe a last- minute bug would show up.

*sighs* acctualy AV 3,4 and 5 are going to be trilogy, so you can say that there are going to be 6 parts.
Amanda have announced that chapter no.2 (the last chapter from AV3) will be released probably somewhere near end of July or the beginning of August.

@Tiniponi: Considering the up roar that the chapters caused, I'd hate to see what would happen if that was the case. Yikes!

I'm trying really hard to get on board with this whole "chapter" thing, but I have to say, it's just crap. I saw a comparison to the chapter idea with books, like Harry Potter or Twilight.

There's just one flaw with that theory. Books aren't released by the chapter. Each chapter comes together in ONE BOOK to make a story. Then OTHER stories follow that to make a triliogy and so forth. We do not pay $10.00 a chapter to read a book. If we did then it would surely cost us a lot.

I would have liked to have known before hand that I was just getting a "chapter" and not an entire game. This whole thing has been very misleading and as a paying consumer, I don't appreciate it. It's just bad business.

As much as I would like to finish this Aveyond story, I doubt very seriously that I will. This whole thing has put a bad taste in my mouth, and I don't wish to repeat it. Unless this game gets released as a whole, I won't be putting anymore time, effort or money into anymore of this.

i have a few questions:
1)when will the other chapter/s will be avilable for download.
2)if i didn't finish a side quest in the first chapter, can i finish it in the second next one?

If you wanted to know more about the game before you bought it, maybe you should have done some research on your own. If you look on the main page of the game it says "Orbs of Magic series, Quest 1". That should have given you some clue that it was a chapter.


Also think about Amanda. Portals have dropped the prices pretty low. So you want her to make a full game that costs 20 bucks, and the portals are going to sell it for 6.99. You really think she can live off that?

Well, rumor has it that the next chapter will be available sometime in July (it is currently being perfected).
And I suspect that the answer to your second question is yes (but since you have to wait until July to get started on the next part, you may want to go back and do all the side-quests just for fun ).
