Yes, if you got permission to make an RPGMaker game out of anything, what would it be?
Stuff in the public domain that no one needs permission to use: *Alice in Wonderland. *L Frank Baum's OZ series (Most people only know the movie loosely based on the first book). Books: *The Hobbit/Lord of the Rings. *Harry Potter. *A Series of Unfortunate Events. *Batman comics. Animes: *Slayers. *Gensoumaden Saiyuki. *GetBackers. *Hunter x Hunter. *Master of Mosquiton. *Gokudo: Swordsman Extraordinaire. *Dragon Half.

Lord of The Rings, A Series of Unfortunate Events, and Alice in Wonderland (horror version (*smirk*)). Maybe Bleach anime, if possible.

So just you know, Alice in Wonderland already has a horror version. You should try the games "American McGee's Alice" and "Alice Madness Returns: American McGee's Alice 2". I warn you also that both games are pretty gory.

SYNCHRONICITY!
If you're going "whaaaat?" it's a series of Vocaloid songs. Fantasy world, dragons and such and it's begging for a game.

Well, I wouldn't make it, but RPG's of these would be awesome:
Ranger's Apprentice Harry Potter Lord of the Rings (even though I haven't read it or seen it)
