I think it's referring to AV3 before it was broken up into chapters i.e. the stand-alone game was called Aveyond 3: Shadow Gate Prophecy.

Yes, you can see the other "Current Project" listed is Yummy Drink Factory, and that game was released ages ago

Lots of changes happen to games from the time they're announced to the time they're released, including the name.

@shaz: Was it actually titled that at one point? If so, it's kind of an awful name. "Hey, let's pick three words out of our awesome-fantasy-word hat. Shadow... Gate... Prophecy! Brilliant!" And it also reminds me of Watergate. XD

@FunFun: Considering "Shadow Gate" was apparently not even a part of the equation, it stands to reason that it was not ever Mel's last name.

Uma's and Nox's last name is Tenobar (or Darkthrop, though I would guess Mel shed that name as soon as she could). They have nothing to do with the Pendragon family outside of their mother's relationship with Edward, which hardly counts since I don't think either of them ever met him outside of Nox and the costume party at Underfall.

@funfun: while their are alternate endings, amanda is going to follow mel/lars pathway for future games.

so mel's kids would either be tenobar or darkthrop.

fan speculation below:
imo, darkthrop is unlikely as mel doesn't want to have anything to do with her heritage.

however with nox's mischief tendencies, nox just might change her name to darkthrop to infuriate her mother.

there are no spoilers. If you read the closing memo and watched the final cutscene, it's very clear what happened.

I think this topic is quickly going to become a candidate for SH (the other one)

No, just Mel & Lars. What IS clear is that they're not going to be Pendragons.

well i think that there should be a script that if you had an aveyond TDP whatever ending you had, would affect their last name(or they should just have the Darkthrop last name)but i don't think you should confine the name system to just 1 last name(unless its Darkthrop because that would accurate on both endings)or have it to where they can choose Darkthrop, Tenobar, or Pendragon in the beginning

The Aveyond games have never been like that. You could choose several endings way back in Ahriman's Prophecy, and the later games have all worked on the canon ending of Devin and Alicia.

Why does it matter? Is it really that important? There are no games that feature Nox and Uma that make reference to their last name, so you're talking about something that doesn't exist and maybe never will. If/when a game comes out that features either/both of them, it will likely follow the pattern of previous games, and go with the canon pairing.

As has been pointed out, if Mel ended up with someone other than the canon partner, Nox and Uma may never have been born.

well no not really that important but I still think it should be on the cannon ending of mel and edward since they've been through 4 games together and Lars the 8th has never been in av3

Amanda hasn't changed any of her canon couples for the games and I don't see it happening now.
