The title of this contest (pronunced shizen no shi) is in Japanese. You probably want to know why. It's because this is a Haiku contest!

Now, as you may know, Haiku are Japanese poems. In the first line, there are five syllables. In the second, there are seven, and the third has five again. It does not need to rhyme.

There will be two categories, humor and beauty. I, MagykMagus, will judge the humor segment according to...well, humor. Elemental will be judging the beauty segment according to beauty and depth. Submit your entry by the 27th of June. Judging will begin the day after (the 28th), and the winners will be announced the day after that (June 29th).

Rules:
1. Your entry must be about nature.
2. This entry must be done by the contestant.
3. Entries should be submitted by PMs to the judge of your category.
4. Entries must have titles.
5. Any forum member can enter.
6. Late entries don't count.
7. Only one entry per contestant, though you can enter both categories.
8. You cannot give your prize(s) to any other forum member.
9. You must follow the syllable guideline.
10. Any forum member may enter.

Humor Category Prizes:
First Place: An avvie/siggie set, design of your choice.
Second Place: A 'Hug an Amaranthian' thread in Spam Haven honoring you, or, if there already is one, a hug!

Beauty Category Prizes:
First Place: An avvie/siggie set, design of your choice (no animation on the siggie).
Second Place: An avvie, animated or otherwise.

BTW, I would prefer that you name your entries in English. The only Japanese I speak is shizen no shi, konnichiwa, and o genki desu ka.

This sounds interesting! I was wondering what exactly the definition of 'beauty' is for this contest, though. Is it describing something pretty in nature, or is it the way the poem is written, or is it something else entirely?
