The Airy Tale
A young air Mage is invited by the Duke to visit his empire. But little does this young girl know that the invitation is a trap. She must fight, not only for herself and her life but also to prevent a Demon from gaining power. But what is the King doing? Why has he let the Duke get away with his power hungry schemes? Is he merely old or senile? Or is this a grand scheme of his? "Trust no one for death may be hiding behind any shadow" Gail: Is this what life is about? Just working for yourself? Being forgotten after death. Gail is a young Air mage who has become a mercenary for hire. It may not seem like it at times but she's got her heart in the right place. She's ever willing to help everyone in their time of need. Shana: "Revenge.... I've always wondered if I'd get a chance at getting it." Her troubled history with Duke Norton meant that she'd do anything to get revenge. Joining Gail when she was invited by Duke Norton under the pretence of being invited by him too, she can't wait for her chance at revenge. Duke Norton: "Am I evil for wanting power? Is it immoral of me? No, everyone desires power." The Duke wants the King assassinated and agrees to kill Gail. He is one of the strongest fighter in the country and despite his rank, he keeps in fit shape. Can only join the party if you make the right choices in your interaction with him. Or else he'll die ________________________________________________ There were only three main characters. Two are mandatory while one is optional. Even if you make the right choices, you can still kill the Duke but the game is much easier with him around. Special Feature: 1. Unique Buying System In this system, you must have the required items with you while buying anything at all. ![]() The only downside to this is that you can't buy two or three weapons at once though I'm working on it. 2. The option to read There are many short stories in the game that can be read. These stories range from a few sentences to some fairly long ones. It is recommended that all of them be read as they reveal a lot about the plot and the world of the characters ![]() ![]() 3. Interaction with all sorts of objects ![]() Maps: 1. Bagton ![]() 2. The Inn ![]() 3. The Duke's Secret Room ![]() ______________________________________________ The game will start with the characters at level 20. The maximum level is level 35. Each character except the duke will have 5 skills each. There are only 3 obtainable characters. The game will be about 3-4 hours long and free. The game is more plot oriented. There's a mystery which you will uncover only by reading the books, a mystery which is more important the original plot itself. And it will be released in April. To keep up with my updates, you can see my DA page where I will put up more and more maps. http://theoneonam.deviantart.com/gallery/ __________________________________________________ And you can expect this game to be out by May latest. No demo, I will directly release the game as it isn't the longest in the World.

Hmm... plot seems interesting but, I will be honest the maps look really blank, the also look too big with too much space, edges on outside maps look unfinished.
I wouldn't play a game with maps that look like this sorry.

I agree with mickychi, try to fill in your maps a bit more, the plot really sounds ok!

Nice start! Ditto first two people, though. Maps are too empty. Reduce space or fill it in with more objects/people. Look at Aveyond's maps for inspiration. See how compact the houses are.
Large maps make it tedious to explore and it's seriously irritating, especially if your character walks at normal speed.

I like this, both the story and the special features.
Say, what do you think of using another window(the bigger one) to display the story pieces? The one that we can find in book shelves.

As said before, maps can be smaller
![]() Story sounds interesting and I'm looking forward to seeing more about this ^^

The first map looks weird. The 2 beds that are sticking together, the one near the wall, how are you supposed to get inside the bed? Unless you're making it look like a double-bed on purpose, then it looks weird. Also, placing the piano next to the bed doesn't seem to fit in.
I like the idea of how you can uncover the mystery by reading books. Lots of gamemakers usually put little or no effort on making the books 'readable".

I've noted what you've said and will definitely try to improve my mapping
For now, though I'm not too happy with this first one and will bring some changes. I was hoping for some feedback. The forest reflects what the person likes most. For Gail, it's a beautiful forest. ![]() Next: ![]()

OK the first map looks really weird
It's like it's been cut off into 3 parts?! Or was it on purpose? ![]() Also, if you don't want to make the house look empty but don't want to add too much, you can try adding more 'black' around the edges. (It's called the "parallel" mapping in XP, right?) I usually add 2-3 squares of it if I really can't be bothered to design my houses Works like wonder if I may say so ![]()

I agree with Ivana. There seems to be something wrong with your layers, theone.
The other map looks good, though is that a river or a canal? A canal is straight lined, a river bends.

Ditto Slim and Ivana. That map is scary! The log and rocks and ferns cut off trees. The giant flowers (Rafflesia Arnoldi?) and the path and the big tree cut off another tree. The ground patch of the tree cut off the firewood.

That came out wrong. I was going for an effect that you could see that map between the other map. There's supposed to be a border there which I forgot
