I wasn't sure where to put this so I decided on here... as good a place as any. I'm going to be entering college(sort of) this coming school year. So, of course, as any prospective college student, I'm looking for college scholarships. I seem to be having trouble finding non-college specific writing scholarships though. So, I'm asking to keep a look out for any non-college specific writing scholarships which US Citizens can attend.

fastweb is a really good site, that's where I use to go to apply for scholarships. Here's a list of website my first college gave me for scholarships and funding. Some may be colorado based, and some may not be running anymore, I'm not sure. Hope these help though.

^ Those are some great sites, and what any good financial aid advisor would send you to first. When I worked financial aid at my college, the first thing we told people to do was fill out thier fafsa and go to fastweb.
My fav scholarship was one I found specifically for left handed writers. lol. That was several years ago, though. Have you tried searching writing contests? Many of them were created specifically for writer/students who needed money for college.

Another option is checkout local and large companies, local foundations, and writig clubs in your area. Most moderately sized companies have some sort of scholarship fund with an essay type requirement that can award funds. Sometime approaching a local writers club, a service oriented group (Kiwanas, Rotary Club...) is another way to find scholarships.
