My friends are bothering me about this episode of a certain show that they love. From what heard on Wikipedia, that episode is supposed to be highly satirical. I hate satire! My friends keep bothering me about it and I don't wan't to see it cause if I did I would have to stay up til 11:30 pm to watch that stupid show. I go to sleep around 9:00 pm and for me, staying up til 11:30 pm to watch some stupid episode of a show that's going to bother me isn't worth it. My friends won't stop bugging me! What should I do?

1. what's the show (wiki's reliability depends on the person who put up the article after all.)
2. ditto mopiece.
3. if still bothering. You can simply lie about watching it and say you hate it. Or, if that's too devious, watch a bit of it online, than tell your friend you hate it.

I agree with KTC you can just lie.

Okay I should be able to lie to them... It's easy to lie to anybody that bothers you.

Not really. The only way the bother me is with this "You gotta watch it" mess.

If you lie to them, what are you going to do when they ask your thoughts on a particular part of the show - that you haven't actually seen?

Just tell them you're not interested in watching it, and you're not going to change your mind no matter how much they bug you about it. When they keep bugging you, just repeat that you're not going to watch it, and change the subject (that's a definite "I refuse to even discuss it with you anymore". Don't waste your breath trying to justify yourself - your arguments against watching it will be seen as an opportunity for them to present counter-arguments and keep the "debate" going. Change the subject, and if they bring it back onto the topic, just ignore the rest of the conversation. Refuse to even hear them.

They'll get the message.

I agree with Shaz, it's better to be honest with them. As shade mentioned, you could always watch the show online in the day if you are bored... or maybe search YouTube for a 5 minute segment?

no they won't. If they really liked it and she says she watched it, then they'll want to talk about it.

PLUS it gives them the message that NEXT time they recommend a show or any other activity that she's not interested in, all they have to do is nag, and eventually she'll give in.

If they're good friends, she shouldn't have to lie to make them leave her alone. They should accept that she doesn't have to like things just because they do.

Yeah, flute. Just say, look guys...I said no, ok? If you were my friends, u wouldnt make me watch something I dont want ot watch, just like I wouldnt make u do something u dont want to do. It's called respect. It's what true friends do for each other. If they keep it up, just walk away for a bit, like get a cup of water, let em chat among themselves and compose themselves and come back smiling and introduce a new topic. Try that.
