There are so many of us that love trivia and amazing facts that I thought I would start a thread where we can share all the wonderfully unique things of this Earth.
Did you know that a humming bird weighs less than a penny? @Patricia, was it you that had that info on the parrot flowers?

Water bears are able to temporarily suspending their animation, entering a state of crytobiosis. In this state, they are able to survive incredibly extreme conditions that would almost certainly kill a human in days, or even seconds!
Temperature — tardigrades can survive being heated for a few minutes to 151°C or being chilled for days at -200°C, or for a few minutes at -272°C. (1° warmer than absolute zero). Radiation — as shown by Raul M. May from the University of Paris, tardigrades can withstand 5,700 grays or 570,000 rads of x-ray radiation. (Ten to twenty grays or 1,000-2,000 rads could be fatal to a human) Pressure — they can withstand the extremely low pressure of a vacuum and also very high pressures, many times greater than atmospheric pressure. It has recently been proven that they can survive in the vacuum of space. Recent research has notched up another feat of endurability; apparently they can withstand 6,000 atmospheres pressure, which is nearly six times the pressure of water in the deepest ocean trench. Dehydration - tardigrades have been shown to survive nearly one decade in a dry state.

None. Dragons are very old, very patient, and will most likely be sitting on your chest while they wait for the ketchup.

That is amazing Victor, It takes me at least 3 minutes to peel off all the little squares and match them up properly. I can do it a little faster with spray paint.
Water bears: are a tiny animal less than a millimeter long. They are arthropods, probably living in your garden right now.

The Parrot Flower:
![]() The original botanist described the impatiens as looking like a parrot. In fact it is a species from several small geographic regions in Asia, northern Thailand, Burma and a neighboring state in India. Some sources claim it is found in Vietnam, the Himalayas and neighboring countries but that cannot be confirmed scientifically. The Thai's call it "Dork Nok Khaew". Literally translated that says: Dork or Dok = flower, Nok = bird, and Khaew = green or word for parrot. So the translation would be Flower Bird Parrot. More at this link: http://www.exoticrainforest.com/Rare%20Thailand%20Parrot%20Flower%20SP.html Pretty cool flower... too bad it can't be grown here...

Patricia thank you for reposting that here, it was so interesting.
Victor, I won't fall for that twice.LOL Bumblebees, once called HUMBLEBEES because of their good nature. Bumblebees rarely have it in them to sting. But young children struggled to say humblebee, often resorting to bumblebee. Because of the bumblebee's awkward clumsy movements, the adults adopted the new name.
