Grutzin Revenger


Prolouge:
I didn’t ask for this, any of this. People naturally shunned me because I was Half-Orc. I admit I could have covered up a little better but I didn’t, hang me. Which is actually what they’re about to do. I’m all alone in this cell, an old quill, an old piece of parchment, my sloppy handwriting and just me. However, there is… a dagger, and it’s not simply a dagger, it’s a choice. The choice brings me to the crossroads of Law and Chaos. Down the law road, I’m hung, so is my friend, and there’s two less “criminals” in the world. Ah, the road of chaos, the one that’s appealed to me for the last few choices. Down this road, I use this dagger to break out, free my friend, get my moral back and go back to before I was caught. Law, rules, Chaos, life. Too bad for Law… I’ve never enjoyed following rules…

Chapter 1: Chaos’ Road

The guard walked down the hallway. Four years of college for this? He thought. Suddenly his thoughts of self-pity were interrupted by one of the prisoners. “Hey, you.” He said. The Half-Orc, Grutzin, upon seeing him the guard shuddered I don’t think I’ll ever get used to this guy. Grutzin, being able read minds (you’ll hear about that later), thought you won’t get the chance. “What do you wa-“ A dagger flew out from underneath the tattered up cloak Grutzin was wearing straight into the guard’s chest. The guard yelped in pain but not before Grutzin reached his arm out of the cell and covered his mouth. Grutzin stared him right in the eye. The guard stopped struggling as he stared into Grutzin’s black eyes, he was completely frozen with fear. “When they first put me in here… I dared them to keep me in. They just lost.” Grutzin said and then broke the guards neck. The guard crumpled right in front of Grutzin’s cell that was SO hard. Grutzin thought sarcastically as he reached out of the cell, grabbed the keys, and got out of the cell. He was in the middle of a long hallway that stretched out in both directions for what seemed like forever. Grutzin go left. A voice said in his head. Grutzin knew this voice, it was the blessed living sword of Los Alexandria, a kingdom actually not that far away from the jail he was in right now. He followed the left tunnel till he hit a dead end. Now turn left. The sword said in his head. Grutzin turned and found himself staring at the cell of his friend, Eadric Haelsek. He was a half-elven mage, who had been Grutzins only real friend for about ten years. “Psst, Eadric, wake up.” Grutzin whispered. Eadric stumbled up, incredible tired. “Grutzin… Am I in heaven? Did they hang us while I was sleeping?”
“Nope, we haven’t been hung yet.”
“You got away…”
“Told you we won’t die today.”
“Well that’s what I get for still doubting you after ten years.”
Grutzin laughed, Eadric was just about the only person that he had ever met that could make him happy. Except for the Aarakocra…
