Got lost orb on day of release. 4 days later finished. A complete disappointment and waste of money. Nothing challenging, many aspects of game are seemingly put in to make it look longer, (Recipes, travelling distances only to find yourself going back straight away.) Never again!
As for Arvale, even worse. No more than a few hours gameplay. Tyhen to add salt to the wound, 'Harmonic Flow' and 'Big Fish' both $3.00 less to buy!
These are probably the last games I shall buy from this site but I guess life is a learning curve.

Well other people on fb also said that it was kinda short.

as for me i haven't completed the game.So i don't know about it.

I just don't understand why people say it was short. There are many places and dungeons to explore,and for 10$, it is a great buy with double the enjoyment. The game was in no way short unless you use the help of the strategy guide and find goodie caves.There are many interesting sidequests to complete too.TLO is anything but short.It is in no way a boring game.Abolutely the opposite.

on fb-mainly people are sad that in tlo they can't buy dresses.And some people said that it was just extended forcefully.They said that there were some things that were only included to waste the time and make the game longer.

Most people don't do sidequests.

well,if most people dont do sidequests,then obviously the game will look shorter and will be less fun.But just beacuse one cant buy dresses in TLO, it doesn't make the game any less enjoyable.Extended forcefully or not,the game was worth playing.

They say the game was forcefully extended? That's really funny, since a lot was removed, paths through dungeons and wilderness were shortened, and new Magic Mirror Express locations and the Reaper Express were added to make the game move much more quickly. On top of that, a lot of the part up until you go to Eldrion was changed to shorten the game.

Before those and other changes were made (deletions, adding MME locations and the Reaper Express), it took me over 13 hours just to get to the pass-opening stage, and that was with wearing Ashera's Sandals from the very beginning.

The recipes, etc, make some very useful items, but are only there as kind of 'sidequests'. They are for fun and enjoyment IF a player wants to use them. Only Acid and Grow potion are mandatory, and Ulf makes them.

K.I have played the game a little bit but haven't understand why they said that there was useless travelling.Though i didn't liked that we can't buy dresses in this.

I haven't met any of the reciepe making sidequest yet so i can't say about that but on facebook they included receipies in forcefully extended section.

There is a lot of back and forth between Tyobi and Harakauna for one of the quests, but the added MME makes that part go super quickly now. If they don't take advantage of the MME, then it is their own fault they have to walk so much.

There is no need to buy gowns in TLO. Lydia is the only clotheshorse in the game, and she is back in the castle enjoying her stash.

kbl, why don't you try games like Posh Boutique? I can guarantee you plenty of different dresses.

Actually i didn't meant that.I meant that there should be a relaxing feature in the game.(Doesn't mean that there should be every time same feature or only dressing feature.Eg- mini games- racing,boat racing,horse racing,etc.game eg-"three the hard way" )We can't always go on playing the game.We play game for relaxation and fun.:Not for increasing your work.

I'm curious Rayvic3, how many hours in those four days did you play TLO?

Is this the number of hours you typically play a $10 game?

Personally, I (as others) found TLO to be considerably longer than any other game at its price point... and not as a result of any artificial extension (which, as you correctly noted, it's not an uncommon practice in some product development).

You're quite right that life is a learning curve... but what lesson have we learned from your only post?

Ultimately, these games are created by independent game developers... often one or two people. They spend considerable hours creating these games, many working two jobs to afford bringing them to you. Their time, and that of all resources and those whom assist them can't eat for free.

If we choose to undercut them by pricing below their costs, they will not be around to create more content. What will happen, is what has already happened across many sectors of business... there are only a very select number large corporations providing the products that suit them with a pricing scheme that reflects their domination.

I've no problem with your post, or voicing your opinion, and hope that the learning curve has just gone up a rung.

Just one little and meaningless question(and i don't think i am breaking any site rule)-What you have written is somewhat similar to the posts i found on facebook.So are you posting your opinion on both side.No offence.Its just a little meaningless question.

As for pricing maybe the increasing popularity has increased prices of av games but from what i have seen till now quality has also increased.

As for length why did most of people said that av2 was worse than av1.In my opinion av2 was somewhat better than av TLO(TLO only)Av2 was longer was cheaper and in av2 also you were able to use mouse in it.(some people say that they liked av3 because you can use mouse in it).

@kb: i don't get what you mean by relaxing features. AV is a relaxing game compared to quite a few games.

if you find AV tedious/not fun than maybe AV's not your type of game.

recipes: heh, if they thought the current system was bad they would have hated the beta system: 46 ingredients, 4 recipes, the beggars and recipe givers a lot more vague ('some jewel, something sweet, and some type of egg' dunno what specifically or in what quantities.) = impossible.

@KTC I'm glad you beta testers raised the issue about the recipes, they seem to be just about right now. I've blown up more than have actually worked, but I did manage to make ONE "Mysterious Potion".. didn't save the game to use it though.

I like this game SO much for the reason I like all Aveyond games.. Amanda's imagination and how even the littlest person in some village can give you some help. It is fun to do all the exploring. Linear games are fine, but being able to go back and forth etc. really ADDS to the enjoyment for me.

Ashera's sandals make me motion sick so I'm happy to walk slowly and enjoy the game.

I don't think it's too short, either. I've been playing pretty steadily since Monday and am not finished yet; and I've had a LOT of time since I broke my ankle. Actually, I'd been wondering how I was going to get game play time with the other things I [should have been] doing!

I think it is a real slam to say "things were added just to make the game longer"... in the first place no one can know that except the writer; and in the second place, I like all the added stuff. That, to me, is why these are my favorite games of all time.
