am i correct in assuming that random discussions (like the ones i have been having) are still to occur in VS?...you mention one thread per club which seems to indicate that in order to participate, a "club" or "group" would have to precede discussion? just curious...

I was also wondering, since the book club will be moved here, if it would be okay to open a separate topic with the poll to choose our future books or if I should place the poll in the village square still? I feel like it may be confusing have half of the book club stuff here and half of it in VS, but I saw above that it's suppose to be one thread per club.

We could open the poll and delete it when we are finished, if that is acceptable for everyone.

Yeah that would be fine. Once the choices are made I'll be adding them to the book club thread anyway.

Hope we start getting some more clubs

Since there are so many people on the site that like a good debate I think someone should start up a debate club or something. I'm just throwing it out there, I'm not volunteering to start it Or maybe a club that reviews the latest movies or the latest PC games or something. I've watched a lot of topics pop up in the village square about both.

a debate club isnt a bad thing, however it could require a lot of moderation (i am not really referring to the mods in general, but to the originator of the topic)...and an endless debate isnt really a debate...to keep it constantly fresh there should be topics added every so often and after a period it should be closed...

a general conversation or discussion about something is one thing and that could go on as needed...but a debate should be limited so that it doesnt drag on endlessly and with new topics being added it keeps from degenerating into a whine and gripe session...

What kind of game topic should we put?
And what fan club should we start? Facebook? Neo? XD

I was just thinking that there's a lot of threads about different games like Virtual Villages, Build A lot, etc. I just thought it would be handy if someone started a thread or club where members could go to hear about the latest games and hear some reviews of them. The same would go for movies.

As for the debate.. a different topic could be done every week or every other week. And when the club moved on to another topic the previous topic could be locked by a mod.

I was just trying to throw out some ideas though.

Actually a debate club wouldn't have to have debates here in the club house. A debate club could organize debates here, to be held in the VS, with actual volunteer debaters(not a free for all).Each side could submit their views over the week then the community could vote for the team that won them over to their point of view.
This would also head off heated arguments as the debaters would have to agree that they are just submitting their opinions and facts The debate club would be made of members with a love for debates.

As for the games, maybe just one thread could hold all of the links to the VS game threads.

Maybe because the bookclub and other theads are so popular.

LOL...I don't know...I guess we are most probably been one of the contributing causes for why this clubhouse subforum was made. Between, brilliant choice of words...Off topic excessiveness And enthusiasm...XD
