Hey all!
I went to this church camp of mine. It's called ACT1V8 or activate, but actually, it's a very clever way of bringing out the theme of the camp. Act 1: 8, in the bible, something about being God's witnesses. And oh yeah, by the way, CKK stands for Chapel Kurnia Kristus, or Chapel of the Blessed Christ. It's still a chapel becuase our church is not built yet
Anyway, there are 6 groups, called Testimoins, Testimunas, Saksi, Vidna, Zeugen and lastly, my group, Svedka. I think it means "WITNESS" in diff languages. Mine was in Czech, i think. Pls correct me. XD
Anyway, it was lotsa fun! There were creative workshops, to teach us singing and dancing, (the dance moves were awesome!) and there was lotsa discussion about life. Sounds boring when i say it, but seriously, it's awesome.
The food there was not bad... oh, 'there' is a high mountain with cold weather. Malaysians, i think you'll know Genting Highlands. oh except on the last day, the breakfast was a stale piece of fried fish squashed in between 2 extremely dry pieces of burger buns. My friend practically drowned hers in chilli sauce to moisten it lol
And oh yeah, we had to go through this hard challenge... balancing TWELVE nails on ONE nail head! Impossible! XD My group was puzzled.
But then we spied on other groups, and we were AMAZED. I never knew it was possible!

And so we did it and yays, we completed the challenge. And THEN our supervisor said she had another challenge for all of us.
Guess what? Since every group in ACT1V8 had 10 members, here's what she proposed...
2 people will tie their legs and go legless (not allowed to use their waists and below), 2 people will be blind-folded, 2 people will be 'hand-less' (hands tied behind their backs) and the remaining 4 'perfect' people had to carry armour to protect their team, which we call "The Armour of God". Guess what? The "armour" is actually blue plastic chairs...

Oh, that girl is from another group and she's under the blindfolded group LOL the chairs behind her are the "armours".
And each group member had to hold on to a blue string. If you ever let go of the string, you're 'dead'. Our mission was to save 2 aliens, Waka-waka and Waki-waki, (a tennis ball and a bathroom mat) high above on a hill behind our villa.
You should've seen the disbelief on their faces lol. Why? Becuase the hill was really, really high and to reach there you had to go through about 356 STEPS...
Anyway, what my group, Svedka did, was...
Everyone appointed me as the leader mainly because i have a clear voice. Then they tied the blue string to my name tag (hanging around my neck) and connect the rest of the string through this special plastic bracelets my friend B* provided. I love you B*! She had 10 of them, so each member wore one and the string was connected via the bracelets. Like this there was no need to tie it aorund the wrist and cut off blood circulation.
Then the 4 'perfect' people got our chairs and headed toward the villa entrance.

The front entrance stairs itself was a problem. The legless people, (two extremely hunky, good-looking guys ) they carried themselves down with their hands. They didn't use their legs or knees at all.

Now you get an overall picture of how everything looked like (above). This is not my group, it was Testimunas.
I admire you man!
So then there was a tiled surface, concrete surface, then tarred-road surface, then the sharp-edged stair-case...

This is not my group as well. It's Vidna, and my sister (cavernsoul) is in red...
The stairs sucked. Some were steep and sharp, some wet, some with disgusting who-knows-what slimy stuff on them... anyway, some legless people use THIS way to hoist themselves... (below)

... notice how she used shoes as her gloves? while other like this... (below)

... also noticed he wore sort-of cloth gloves? Ouch! I wonder how they did that! It was a long, long, long, long way up, after all! O_O lol but some groups, even beofre reaching the more challenging parts, had to stop and let their legless people rest... on the armour.

Laugh out loud... this group was Vidna, my sister's group. The legless people then "sacrificed" themselves by letting go of the string, not wanting to be a burden for the group... that's why Vidna started off 4th out of 6 groups to becoming the 2nd overall.
And then there was the traffic jam. The traffic jam where THREE groups jostled around to get to the narrow flight of steps first...

Thank goodness my group had already gone on first...
My group Svedka had difficulties too. Too bad i didn't have my camera with me. The legless people, E* and M*, pumped themselves up the stairs with their arms and dragged the rest of their bodies. Once in awhile we stopped. E* was fine, he was okay, after all, he worked out everyday and you can see that by the muscles on his arms. M* was a problem however, because he's not as well-built as E* and had to rest alot.
Also, M*'s bracelet snapped and B* tied it around his wrist, having no choice. That's what's slowed us down because the string was short, and B* (who is in charge of telling me to stop) had to watch out that the string does not cut off blood circulation on M*'s wrist.
To lighten the atmosphere, E* started singing the National Anthem. "Negaraku, tanah tumpahnya darahku..." lol what a comical scene. There we were, trying our best and huffing and puffing, and there we were singing. Our group's facilitator, V*, who is in charge of taking care of us, looked at us blankly and then we laughed. He didn't know the song because he was from our neighbouring country, Indonesia. But he stood rigid and lifted his hand to his temple for fun and we knocked into him. What a laugh! What teamwork! What fun!
We had gotten quite high up at that time and am proud to say that Svedka was in the lead. Somewhere down below we heard a group, most probably Zeugen, singing, "We... are the champions..." LOL
Oh yeah, once one of our blind people, A*, tripped and fell and brought the string, along with himself, down. Since the string was tied around my name tag,
... which was AROUND my neck (above, oh, that dark blue string is my name tag. The string of our group was light blue), so when A* fell, the string, short enough, pulled and am embarrassed to say, it strangled me around the neck. I had to hold on to what's left of the string to give me breathing space. Thankfully, my faci V* came to my rescue *shiny eyes* and helped the fallen guy up so i could breathe.
And yeah, we had a lot of Mathematics.
"Okay, a 90 degrees turn here!" "5 steep steps!" "45 degrees!" "U-turn!" "12 more steps!" "Approx. 1 flight of stairs with 23 steps!"
Funny! Anyway, we reached the top, which was a badminton court. (Our villa was situated on a steep hill, so since there was still land left behind, it was turned into a B-ton court.)
V*, our faci, once again *shiny eyes* actually went off looking for the aliens so we could rest. Actually we're not supposed to do that, XD but he was such a sweetie and the place was big, i guess he wanted us to rest a little. Anyway, after resting, he told us that it was there, and here, and we headed toward the hidden aliens. It totally saved us time from searching the whole place and we emerged as winners. Our supervisor Miss Gina (names have been changed) practically called out, "Svedka wins the Obstacle Course!"
And all the other teams looked up and you could see the dismay on their faces...
YAY SVEDKA RULES!!!!! Here is us resting... dark, yeah...

Our faci, V* is sitting on the railing, B* is the one with the peace sign, and i'm on the very right, with my chair beside me.
So anyway, we cheered the other teams on, especially the legless ones.
One guy said good-naturedly, "Shut up!"
And here is my sister's group. Poor thing. She was so tired and also disappointed she didn't win. (She's in the red shirt, covering her face because she hates having her photograph taken LOL!!!)

So.... yeah, just wanted to share this. That's about all the fun stuff we did, i guess. If i can recall some more, then i'll post somemore. See ya, amaranthians! Yays.
