Aveyond 3 Progress + MORE Screens

Yes, I have more screenies for you this week But first, a quick update...

The game is coming along beautifully - Amanda has finished adding in all the fine detail to the maps, and they look absolutely stunning! If you like what you've seen so far, be assured, we're keeping some really special ones as a surprise for you.

Amanda's added the background music and sounds to most of the maps (or at least the ones I checked today), and I have to say that Venwood is definitely one of my favorite places in the game. Apart from looking and sounding great, there's quite a bit of fun happening there too!

We are just tidying up some final little things before launching into alpha testing. I've been spending a lot of time working on scripts, and would like to tell you about two things you'll notice that are different from previous games.

Firstly, we've revamped the journal system. In AV3, you'll see quests listed in your journal in the order in which they were received. This is a little thing, but hopefully will make a nice difference when playing the game - no more searching through pages and pages of quests to see if the person you just spoke to added a quest to your journal.

The other big thing is that AV3 will have a number of mini-games that you have to play as you progress. Some of these are really unique little games, and I had heaps of fun setting them up. We've done something extra special - while you have to play each one to get further in the game, once you've completed it, you can come back any time afterwards and play it again just for fun, and each time you play, it will be different.

Just a little advice for Shaz or Amanda (Mapping Advice): In Stormbend, where mel is at above the two houses roofs, doesn't their need to be a wall like the rest of the walls? Here's what I mean: EDIT: Heheheheh...I found another one sorry if I'm bothering you Shaz...or maybe it's just me... but here's another screeny: I'm not sure if there should be squares like on top of the other walls but then again it could be just me, I hope I helped alittle. The two buildings behind Mel are sitting on a raised platform - those border stones are the top of the wall surrounding the platform. And the one at the bottom (I thought it looked a little strange when I posted it here and had to go back and check for myself) is the edge of an inground pool of water. They'll both make more sense when you're playing the game. Good spotting though I also made a teeny change to the Bazaar trees and the Memory Cave last night after posting those pics. So don't be surprised if the maps don't all look exactly the same when you're playing. Harburg has had a MAJOR overhaul!

I looked through this once again and oticed some nice details. ..... I have kept this to myself long enough, I hate the looks of Mel! Her hairstyle is weird, her outfit unglattering, and her bow does not match her clothing! OK. Sorry, but I really want some clothing changes for her. With different hairstyles too. =/

Couldn't get through Totem Tribe without getting the solutions to most of the puzzles. Well maybe Aveyond mini games will be different. I can manage the puzzles in the Dream Chronicles series -- so maybe all hope is not lost. The screen shots are BEAUTIFUL btw -- but then I expect nothing less of the Aveyond series. In fact I compare all other RPGs/adventure games to it -- and most are found wanting. Aveyond music is great too. One of the ONLY games I play where I tend to turn the music UP -- rather than down or off!
