The Unexpected Gift


Looking around me I see friends, old and new.

What a treasure, what a find...now what do i do?

I can sit and stare at my screen and smile at the things they say, I can think how I long to be so carefree and join them as they play.

I can hum a chant that warms me inside out, like their friendship warms my soul.

I can cast a spell that fills their world's with the joy they bring to mine.

I can smell the sweetness in the air and know that my friends are breathing in the same.

I realized that there must be something that I can do, something I can say, something I can give to show that their friendship - their time - their words have touched something in me.

But the question is still... what?

I have it! I know just what I can do.

I sit at my computer and let the words flow out from within.

This is it, this is what I can give to you, one and all, a treasure from my heart.

These simple lines are few, but they are honest.
