Memories of a Time Long Forgotten Written by: Irmo's Weaver: BeMused I am just a tool – a tool to be used by the expense of Mortal Man... Yes, you. Never have you realised your source of power, my lovely fledglings of Dark Arts, my precious Witches and Warlocks. It is me who bestow upon you the ability to conjure spells. Any spells, from the simplest love hex to the most complicated virtual warp. I am the root of your power. The only problem left is for you to learn to control it. Who am I? You might wonder. Before I give you my answer, consider this: what makes you want to embrace the Dark Arts? Let’s also be clear about the simple equation of Life: anything which goes up will eventually falls. I am once a being unbound to the confinements of the world, my supremacy extending far beyond the borders of the World. Yet, there finally comes a time when Life decides to arrange for my Downfall. Such shame; my power has reduced to half I used to have, my existence diminished to a mere backbone for what currently known as the Guild House of Witches and Warlocks. I have now become a creature no one Mortal Being can comprehend. Be it an echo of woes, a vile whisper along the lone dark corridor, or an apprehensive stir of air of an ancient being walking down the winding stairways – that’s the farthest extend to which I allow myself to be let known. Perhaps the wisest amongst you recognizes me... and he has been missing from you for far too long. Who am I? You ask again. Look at the peak of the tallest tower of your guild house. I am there watching over you, watching over the Lands. My essence concerted at the tallest tower of the Guild House, all I am able do now is to watch and reflect. For, as new waves comes washing over the receding ones, we have arrived to a time for a new power to rise: a time for a new Kingdom to rule over the Mortal Lands of Amaranthia. The End |
