YDF Sneak Preview: The Game Screen
Posted by amaranth on 15-May-2008 (1380 reads)

I have loads of new screens for you. The game is close enough to let you all in on the secret I've been hiding.

At the beginning of the game, you start with a chocolate bean grinder and a chocolate machine. As the days go on, you gain new tools and ingredients. You use these to create new recipes. On day 3, you get a can of Whipped Cream, and on day 6, you get your first syrup: Coffee! Notice the leaves behind the drink tickets? This is one of many decorations that you can buy in the General Store. I'll talk more about them in the next screen.

As you play the game, you'll earn tips (in the form of gems) when you complete tickets quickly. You can use tips to purchase decorations and themes in the General Store. Decorations are banners that appear at the top of the screen. Themes determine what your barista tools look like. (see Screen 4 to see what the Slime Theme looks like)

In this screen, the player has purchased the Slime Theme and some Bat decorations. If customers like your theme and decorations, they will leave more tips. Notice the blender? As you get farther along in the game, you'll get lots of new tools and goodies to make interesting new drinks. I've left out some of the tools... what could they be?

Soooo... I hope this gives everyone an idea about how Yummy Drink Factory is played. I've left out a bunch of features from this post, but I'll reveal them later. Alpha testing this game has been loads of fun for me, and I think all of the time-management nutters like me are going to like this game.

Wow! Very awesome work, Amanda! I can't believe you did all this in a span of a few months! @_@ Who was the artist that did this? I really like the artwork done. This was all made in Torque?

I await the final release for this! ^_^ I'd totally love to be a beta tester. This game looks like a lot of fun

Wow, very nice!

I think that the top bar shows where the cursor is? Wow so we'll have to memorise the recipes, like an actual drink mixer.

OUCH! (that was the sound of me having ze toothache lol)

Oh cool!! I love time-management games. It looks like cake mania, and I like the way you learn new recipes like chocolatier. I can't wait to try this game out.
