The squirrel game is coming along, slowly but surely. Here's a sneak preview of the main game screen (the background is still a work in progress):




It's been a huge learning process for me - not just with the game engine (which insists on throwing a curve ball at me on a pretty regular basis), but with the huge amount of time I've had to invest in searching for stuff that you wouldn't consider so hard to find - sound effects, music, FONTS!

I'm having more fun now that I've taken delivery of most of the artwork and can start playing with the animations. But I'm also discovering the not-so-fun sides as well.

I'm almost certain the game won't be ready for release at the start of the Revolution. Perhaps during that week, but I'm still waiting on some art and music, and I still have more work to do with the programming. So it may be a little longer than that. Hopefully the included levels (I'm aiming for 50) and the level editor will make up for the delay


... er ... that little pouch in the middle with the big Z is sleeping dust. Squirrel motto: never leave home without it.
