I was waiting for this one!! Eri is def on my list of best RPG game makers, with Amanda and John. It's too bad that I have some work to do (I must finish it first, since if I start the game, I know that I will not be able to get my hands out of it ), but after that I'm definitely getting it. It's a game that I'll buy without playing the demo , like I always do with Amanda's and John the Wizard's games. Salute Eri and hope you'll continue making great games. I'm so glad as a player that there's another game maker that actually can make me shiver while I play My thoughts of the game, after I finish it

Thanks! I solved that quest. I've another question though. I met a clown with a bunch of children in the clearing after the fly test and I said he wasn't funny. So now I'm worry that I've missed some item or quest because of what I did. I may have to replay the game for the second time.

The arrow keys don't seem to be working properly, I can't move around.

I can't move down or right when I am walking around and I can't go up on the menus (only down). My arrow keys work fine on my computer desktop though.

I installed the patch to see if that made a difference.... it didn't

Been playing Aveyond (the entire series) on that computer with no probs. The problem is from right at the start tutorial or no. This is sad as I love Ella's Hope

..and it was excellent.

The sidequests are a lot of fun. And each character has their own personality, which I thought was super funny.

I recommend it!!

Though i'm having problems with the mouse when equipping, but this is the first time I find using mouse easy. Other RPGs' mouse control was suck and making no sense. The leader won't reach the place by itself. It'll stop if there're some walls on its way ==

wow! this game is really one of the bests RPGs games ever.. it has everything: nice story, good characters and skills, very beautiful graphics and lots of hours for playing.. i finished it already but one is the sure.. i'll play this game again and again and again and again and again!!! go on Eri!!!

Two questions I guess, are we able to get passes to all schools eventually? Is it just a matter of being in the right place at the right time?

Second I am replaying but having finished the first time (I think) *POSSIBLE SPOILER QUESTION FOLLOWS* is there an epilogue section what am I suppose to do now that I am somewhat free to roam the town at the end of the game?

I loved it! And I really liked the flying lesson What I love about eridani games, is that they seem to never end. When we finish a big quest.. We have another one to do, even more amazing. The characters are lovely and the jokes - very funny xD
I recommend you to buy this game, it's worth it!

I'm back to give some thoughts about this game and probably the hardcore fans won't like it.
I'm Eridani's fan and loved Ella's Hope and well I expected to love The witch and the warrior even more but hmmm....

It took 3 tries for me to finish the game, no, it wasn't too hard or anything (I tend to play in normal mode) but dunno, there was something about the story, it was well...there wasn't something epic that can keep your brain busy. So I left the game a few times, yeah I didn't go too far but like I said it wasn't interesting for me, but finally I just started playing again and finished it...somehow...too much free time I guess and nothing more fun to do -_-'

* Have I changed my opinion?
-> No, I still think that this game didn't have something interesting and deep.

* Will I replay it?
-> Probably not.

* Do I think it's better than Aveyond?(I never compare two games that don't have anything incommon, but this refers for the person who said something like this and yeah for that D-Squall person that never played AV and is always saying things like Aveyond suck...while I'm at this thing, I think that Eridani and Aldorlea should have a chat with him about that behavior of his)
-> I don't think that this game is even close to Aveyond awesomeness, but like I said the story wasn't interesting enough for me, which doesn't mean that it's not going to be interesting for everyone.



* Was everything in the game bad?

-> The game wasn't bad at all, it was kinda boring. The story plays a huge part when I'm playing a game and if I don't like the story well you can't expect of me to really enjoy the game.

->The characters, they were nothing special except for Marli and Quinn (these two are REALLY AWESOME) but they were all likable.

-> The music was nothing spectacular but it fitted the game perfectly.

-> Mapping...well I'm not a game maker, I'm just a player and I really don't know what's good mapping -_-', but I can say that I loved the maps and loved all of those many places that Eri made in the game. The maps were not confusing, not too big (I love big maps btw but only if they have a purpose, not everything big is good) but not too small either. I think that they, the same as the music fit the game character perfect.

-> Side quests...some of these were boring as hell but some of these were quite fun and the prizes were really awesome, especially the "college hideouts" quest Now, when we are at those you should really be careful while playing the game, cause you can miss something and you won't be able to have it later. Eri loves that kind of tricks XD

* Am I in mourning for my 20 bucks?
-> No XD I said on this game page once, and I'll say it again Eri is def on my list of fav game-makers. Although I didn't enjoyed in this game that much (because of the story) I still enjoy playing through Ella's Hope over and over again.

So I really can't wait for the next game where we'll meet Leah again ♥

In the witch and trhe warrior, where do I find a companion for the man on the boat on captais Isle?

One of the best games out there. Interesting, engaging, well-written. Eridani is my second favourite rpg game desiner after Amaranthia, and only followed by Aldorlea (due to still present language problems but they are improving) and I will continue to look forward to games by Eridani .Ella's Hope was really good too. As long as you keep the stories engaging and well-written, the characters interesting and the game itself designed well and thoroughly (I will not tolerate any unifhsined or badly done tiles/maps in a commercial game for which I'm paying money!), I will most definetly keep supporting you. Just keep doing it as you have been doing it so far, Eridani.

My review of The Witch and The Warrior! From now on I'll post my reviews based on Story, Graphics, Gameplay and Music... I think that phrases like ''It's awesome'' and ''I love this game'' aren't good reviews and it's very annoying, and that I've been doing this and now I won't do this anymore.

Story: I started playing the game and in the beginning was everything very boring and all, but quicly after some events the game started to be very exciting, with the school, lessons, new characters but then the game lost its excitment very fast... the story was a little hard to understand and even when understood it isn't very appealing, I found the story boring with a lot of do this and do that which haven't provided much fun to me.

Graphics:Some mapings were terrible... I noticed a house on Nethinia full of mirrors, and it doesn't make really sense. Also some other places (especially forests) it has too much grass blocking your way, some trees you can't pass behind at all which obligates you to turn around the tree. Annoyed me.

Gameplay: battles weren't fun like battles, battles were too hard, enemies can wipe you out with a single blow even in easy mode and the majority of the spells aren't very effective, still... they cost too much MP. The side quests were a major bore... sometimes you just want to continue with the story but you are obligated to do some silly quests that you accept that you don't even know from where to start, and in some sidequests the rewards aren't even worth it.

Music: Not much to say about the music, it didn't impressed me.

Well, to finish I would like to say that I was expecting more from this game... much more, I didn't liked The Witch and The Warrior, the game was boring and annoying, the warrior? doesn't even look like a warrior, she's almost topless with, the only protection is in the legs and a plate that protects only the breast. I feel like this game was made to girls only and aveyond fans, which I really don't get why many people here liked because the story is nothing impressive, I guess the ''cute factor'' is what matters more for people here than gameplay, story and cool features. I don't recommend.

Doesn't compare I have played this game for maybe 5ish hours and the gameplay has pissed me off enough that I just stopped I basically logged in just to slam this if that tells you anything

This is the first time I review a game

Let's start off with this: Eri, you've made a great game again Of course, there are faults, but doesn't every game have those? (Yes, Aveyond and Indinera's games too, guys. Grow up. Perfect doesn't exist and there are always going to be people who dislike this and like that for different reasons.) Anyway, I'll start the review now. ^^

Story: I think the biggest problem is, that the story is very big.(Can't be any other way of course. A story about a war past and discrimination can never be small.) And hey, it's ok to have a big story! Nothing wrong with that. Also, I think the story itself is great, but the game fails to bring out its full potential. As soon as you leave your hometown, you simply forget that there is magic discrimination. Also, other students, like elemental, shape shifters, wizards, etc. (basically all students except warriors and martial artisans) never give you any hint of any kind of discrimination they might have had. Nor when we visit other islands do we get a kind of treatment that might reflect back to the war. Anyway, it comes down to this: this story calls either for a bigger game/game series or even more emphasis on the background story. That's just my two cents about it

Graphics: Maps are good, sprites are cute and pretty (specially little Giselle :3), pictures are immensely detailed and nice to look at. I honestly wouldn't understand that anyone could complain about the graphics.

Music: Excuse me for this, but I listen one hour to the music than start and play my own. (Please note that I do this with ALL RPGs, the exception being games made by musicians, such as Reives and supershigi. So in no way does it mean the music was bad... I just like to listen to my own )

Gameplay: I dislike battles. I picked the Story Option in Ella's Hope and was saddened to see there wasn't one now. Also, I found the battles harder than normal. I think it would have been better to either make us gain more EXP or to let there be more equipment. This is more a remark, because I've heard some people having trouble with that. I actually didn't. (Oh and I played on Easy in case you want to know.)
The side quests are incredibly fun to do, namely the hide-out challenges. As always Eri had some tricks up her sleeves with them though, so I missed some during my first play through (and even during my second play through ).
Another great feature are the multiple endings. I've only discovered two at the moment, but I'll be sure to try and find some more in the future.

In short this game has: a good story, fantastic graphics and replay value. So once more: thank you, Eri and team for this great game. I'm looking forward to Leah's Tale and any other games you've got up your sleeves.

Really great game, I enjoyed it very much, but I would so much like to have a better and more detailed walkthrough!!

I'm a HUGE Aveyond fan. Would this game be as fun for me? And is it worth the price?
