Warfare Studios were pretty low on my list of RPG makers but that changed with Vagrant Hearts series. I like how the story sounds andI love everything that has a connection with samurai XD Also those face sets look pretty awesome...I hope I'll like the game

 Re: Shining Plume
The style of this game is very different from any of Del's games, it's focused on oriental/japanese theme, full of samurai, ninjas and japanese words like hime, -kun, -sama. I like this style very much because is what I'm used to see in animes lol. I played a little, liked the story but the battle system and the fast monsters were annoying.

 Re: Shining Plume
One of the games that I thought that was extremely interesting. A RPG that takes place during ancient Japan, that ties in the morals of bushido and of loyalty. Almost different than most of the games here, where they all are about fantasy, which I don't have a problem with, though its refreshing.

very nicely done facesets and the battle scenes are done well. I enjoyed most the interesting dialogue and the oriental characters of the time. awesome job warefare!

Yesterday this game was, oddly enough, labelled as "free". LOL. There was no price listed and the "buy" button wasn't there.

I have yet to try it. Looks nice, though I've encountered Games with awesome cover/promo art but have terrible graphics. VX tend to have at least decent-looking graphics. Maybe it'll be cool.

EDIT: Bah! The artwork is only cool because RMVX is awesome! That's simply the new samurai expansion pack RMVX recently released!

 Re: Shining Plume
Alright guys, I have something important to say here regarding the bugs encountered on the game. That was entirely my fault, it was pure distraction, what happened is that I beta-tested the whole game and kept that project folder in my machine, however when I uploaded the game I ended using the folder with the project before the beta-testing.

At first you reported bugs that were new to me so I did not see anything wrong with but when some bugs I had already corrected started to be reported I got suspicious and only today that I found what really happened, so I deeply apologize for that, is was my mistake, I should have been more careful, and that goes for the shrine puzzle too.

So, please everyone, download the new version that is already available, to solve the puzzle you have to first read the message in the shrine then go back to the room where you fought the boss, there will be two statues there, you have to put them in the corners of the shrine where the message is, the rocks are there simply to ilustrate those spots.

Again, I apologize and if you would be so kind as to play the game again with the correct version now, bug-free you will see that the most careful thought was put into the whole game, storyline, mapping, side-quests, everything. Episode 2 should be coming in a month and it will contain very nice features, something entirely new!

 Re: Shining Plume
Oh I'll play it alright...I'm 4 hours and 30 min through the game and everything is going smoothly. This one is your best so far...it'll probably end as one of my fav RPG games ) well I'll have to finish it and see if I'm going to like the whole game .

edit: I didn't know I was somewhere near the end ) Oh well...

First things comes first...

I'm pretty much specific when it comes to games...the things most people like I don't,but the things I like 95% of the other players do ))

As I said, Warfare Studios were pretty much low on my RPG game makers list, but they improved with Vagrant Hearts series. But this new game Shining Plume is something that I never imagined their team will make in 1000 years...my apologize to Del and his team for the unkind words I said above but sheesh your games were pretty bad you know -_-'...

...and I'm glad you're growing and learning 'cause if you didn't do that, I'd probably never had the pleasure of playing this game...

...so thank you ♥♥♥

I finished the game for 5 hours.I usually don't think that 5 hours is enough time for 12 bucks but since there are games with prize of 20 bucks and game play of 10-12 hours and since they are not nearly good as this one,I can honestly say I'm satisfied with the prize and the game play.

I don't know how much of the things in the game are original (sprites, face sets, graphics) but I liked them all. Also what makes this game really fun is the great story. Everything moves so fast in this game, nothing is boring..when you think that you know something, something else pops-out of nowhere and makes the story even more intense and mysterious. The humor is fantastic..I found myself laughing like nuts a few times..even my mom came in my room to see why the hell am I laughing that loud

Another thing that's important in a game, at least for me is the character development. I'm very satisfied with it. The characters are all great. They all have their backgrounds full with mystery but I guess we'll have to wait for another chapter to discover more about them.
I love them all but wow I never found so cute and lovable character like Akira-hime since Rhen from Aveyond 1 )

I'd love to see more side-quests and original music in the second part.
Also if you put more side-quests you should put a diary too...oh and I'd love if I could hmmm arrange my party...Akira-hime would be my party-leader for sure...her sprite is just too cute ♥

I have just two things to say to Del and Warfare Studios game making team: keep up the great work and move it...I don't know how much I can wait to play the second part...I'm dying here XD

 Re: Shining Plume
I liked it so I bought it. I enjoy the contrast between the "old" samaurai and the "new" old west style dialog. The reference to Clint Eastwood was a hoot. But....why are the scripts at the end of the fights in grey letters on a slightly less grey background? Very hard to read. Also there is no auto save. If you forget to save after each major battle you are faced with doing it all over again. I would appreciate a windowed version so I can keep track of other things while I play. There is no "log / diary" to keep track of side quests. and lastly I wish this came in a slightly easier version. I get bored with having to fight evert ten seconds or so. It wastes so much time, I just want to get on with the story.

Hi, it's me again. After contacting Warfare, Raphael responded very quickly. Thanks. He answered most of my issues, and I finished the game. Yeah, compaired with the "Aveyond Orb" set it was over quite quickly. I still liked it though, and await the second installment. Thanks again Warfare.

 Re: Shining Plume
After deleting and reloading a few times the problem at the temple was corrected and I was able to complete the game.

I really didn't like the back and forth between a formal/ancient language and modern slang. The artwork was better than the 2 Vagrant Hearts games with fewer mistakes -- so progress is being made. There are still a lot of mistakes in spelling and grammar which I find distracting.

I didn't like going into the final battle without warning. I'm one of those folks that likes to have explored every nook and cranny -- and there was a section I hadn't explored when I chose the chamber that ended it -- so I'll go back and replay the end.

I think this game was over-priced. I am a R-E-A-L S-L-O-W player. It usually takes me about twice as long to play an RPG game as it does most folks. I completed this game in under 9 hours.

Indeed, Warfare Studios, you are getting SO much better. This game does indeed look very good and it is not badly written either. I'm really happy to notice that you're improving even more! Well done!

And by the way! Yojinbo is one of my favourite visual novels! IU wonder if you were inspired by it, because it could sure be seen as something of a tribute.
But it;s still very good!

 Re: Shining Plume
I like the game so far. What I find a bit annoying is the dialogue switch between formal and American/Cowboy/Country-Western accented English on Japanese faces. There are also some characters with Irish or Scottish accents. The gray on gray text after battles is impossible to read. I also find the spelling and grammar errors to be distracting, but I haven't played any games yet that take the time to make those corrections.

 Re: Shining Plume
Despite a couple of things, I loved this game. I loved the art and the mapping, I LOVED the characters, and the dialogue made me laugh. For the most part, this was an excellent game, good job!

That said, there were a couple of things. First off, there weren't many sidequests or any sort of 'extras', really. That's not necessarily bad, but it did make the game a bit too linear at times. Second, I personally felt this game was too short for the price. I was through it in less than 6 hours and finished it thinking 'what, that's it?' I was quite disappointed by this but not disappointed enough not to buy the next game...which is giving me all sorts of trouble.

 Re: Shining Plume
So...Oh, goodness, this really isn't the kind of thing I like to do, but I wanted to put this out there for consideration.

This game is chock-full of gratuitous (and Americanized, cliched) Japanese. Not just the use of words like "arigato" and "konnichiwa", which would have been much better replaced with their English cunterparts, but also in the way that the characters prattle on about honor and bushido as if they were twelve-year-old boys pretending to be samurai. I get that the maker was trying to make this historically and culturally relevant, but in all honesty I can't help but feel like this was written by some junior high Japanese fanboy. The characters seem cliched and unrealistic and the dialogue is stilted at best.

I'm sorry. I guess this could be accounted for as being not my cup of tea, but I was actually expecting more from this, plot wise. Interesting idea, but the execution is sloppy. :/
