Seems like a well-designed game with nice art, it also appeals to me that it is a more mature game with some nudity, immediately got to top on my must-buy list. I hope the overall story and game elements will also live up to my expectations.

The song is really a turn off. 30 year olds should stop making their voice sound squeaky. The graphics looks promising, I doubt the story would be that mindblowing though.

I removed the video. Winter Wolves said it wasn't really true to the nature of the game anyways.

Just played through to get 2 of the possible endings. I love the game, but I see no sense in having a censore option at all to be honest, there is no real nudity at all, and the artwork itself is already pre-censored with leaves and such anyway, it is a totally useless option. In my opinion way more people would be interested in an option to enable/disable the gay routes which would actually make a difference. (I liked Draco even though Loren and Dora are my favorites in this game, and I play games with both gender characters to not miss anything, so I myself don't mind)
I have seen the original video btw, I love J-pop, like those for other games and anime, but I think it just sounds weird if it is sung in English so I agree with removing/changing the video because the song, I also think it is unnecessary money thrown out for a song and for voice actors for the characters/battle, others may disagree with me but voiced RPG just takes away from the game and doesn't give to it, was always my opinion about the Bioware games with voiced player characters too. I do think some songs would fit the setting though, but I think it would have to be in a fantasy language or latin to make it appealing to everyone, something like what the first ending song for the anime Aquarion is. Otherwise, as said this game is great, too bad there is no option to name the player character ourselves or decide all classes for ourselves (I suggest allowing 3 class-combination for a character in next game for even more variety) or to improve existing armor/weapons, but you made a new working game system/setting with LAP, which may have cost a lot of time and money, but you can improve on it for future games so the actual spending will become a proper income after about the 3rd game (or expansions) out I imagine. I hope there will be more strategic aspects in future games though, as example build up/improve a settlement and a castle, train and equip troops. The current battlefield is 3x2 but I think it could easily be changed into 5x3 for greater battles and more tactical options. Congrats Winter Wolves, The game itself deserves a 91% in my opinion, but the fact you had to make the whole setting and system yourself (unlike the RPG maker games) skyrockets this percentage to 99% in my opinion. (I never give anything 100% as there is never anything that can be perfect, everything can be improved upon). It is most certainly better than Planet Stronghold in many ways, and now you have two worlds/settings you can create games on as you expand on them, I hope all your future games will also use this/improved RPG system! PS: I hope that succubus will in a future game be romanceable, not if she is the antagonist in the second game, but maybe she could be something like a summoned demon slave to the main character in the third game where the player could "tame" (befriend, show worth of mortals to her, etc) her. PS2: Please next time make a female dwarf a romance option too, and sorry for my LONG comment. XD +ah yes, I rushed through the game within a sleepless night (Properly read everything, not the other kind of blind rushing) and missed work too, that is why I can give a review this soon XD (time for sleep now!) *3 Sorry to post once more, but I forgot to tell you that you simply HAVE to localize this into Japanese, in the market of Japanese RPG this game would do great, you wold I believe sell way more of it than on the EU/US market. The song would be much better and cuter if sung in Japanese as well in my opinion. The art is already in an anime style which I believe both shoujo and shounen game fans would approve of, although I do think some of the clothes/armor on the characters will make the more... conservative (prude) people keep away from the game, I think they are good but to reach out for bigger audience I think you could in next game allow players a choice of ...let's say, 3 alternative looks for the characters to both increase variety what everyone loves and also to satisfy everyone who loves skimpy armor and those who only want to see full-body plate armor. Well, that's it, my last comment on the game. Hope you don't mind them, as I only wish the best for you with these thoughts. Merged Posts. ~Mopiece |

The game is a case of fan service, but the battle system and some of the questing are very nice. Whe I am saying fan service, it aims to please and will be likely very pleasing. Nudeity is optional, can be switched off, so no to worry there. All in all, much bigger than Planet Stronghold. But I really like the skills and there are two options at the start of chosing whether you ant to start with one skill and gain skll points every two level or tactical where you ger 5 skills at the start and a point every 3 levels. The rpg susbstance is right there, the story is nice but it is niot in any way mindblowing.Just a nice typically rpg story, but it is well presented. Worth a try for sure, especially if you liked planet Strongolhd. the mechanics are similar
Winterwolves did a lot of job on this and on working some of the details. |

I'm still playing the downloaded version and the only problem I'm having is that the battle sequences are a little slow for me. Tips and suggestions are welcome.

Finished my first playthrough (after almost a week, oh man)! Man, Rei's awesome. *grins* Although I didn't see the CG scene because the censor thingie was on all the time because the overall feel of the lack of clothing makes me uncomfortable (man, imagine after that layer of leather on Elenor, what's next? XD).
The battle system is also great. Very simple but effective. I played through easy but some battles are still a bit challenging for me. XDD For the characters, I like Dora and Rei the most >D Can she be romance-able? She's very very very cuuute. And she looks so loli I can't help it. I had also played Planet Stronghold (but I've never actually finished the entire thing, just one of the romance plots), and I have to say it's a very big improvement! I did see on Twitter how long this is (my, my, around 160k words, right?) and I gotta do agree with this being localized in Japanese. Hiragana and katakana's shorter than English, so it'll be all right translating, I think. Just get a good native Japanese speaker who knows English too. The writing is very great, but unfortunately, the concept was somewhat too generic. The differences were not too far to the usual save-the-world theme in usual RPGs, but still, it was a very fun play with the romances affecting some things in it. And about the song. I've never heard it before (like I want to XD), but if you need some inspiration, why don't you look at anime OPs that have fighting and is also fantasy? Say, like those OPs for mini-animes of Touhou. Foreign language works too, like Latin, Greek, or maybe Italian. A mix will be awesome. But if you want it to appeal to otaku people of the sorts, a Japanese song will be nice. ![]() Overall, nice work! I might replay again as Saren ![]() |

I hated this game on sight and uninstalled it. But somehow it stayed with me and I tried again - glad I did! It took a long time to understand what I was doing, but I eventually got it.
I thought the near-nudity was a bit unrealistic (apart from the fact that Newton's law of gravitation clearly does not apply, LOL) because they are fighting and covering all sorts of terrain without the protection of clothes, much less armour. Also noticed that while women are nearly naked, most men are fully clothed, hmmm! (j/k) But I don't care about the scanty clothing and have not bothered to cover up. I'm not far into my first game yet, playing as Elenor. I was disappointed to find, considering the high cost of the game, that choosing different options results in the same story, only a difference in some party members. The variety is about character development and relationships. But I was thrilled to read there is an expansion pack on the way. Thank you for this, WinterWolves. (Or is it Winter Wolves? I'm not quite sure). I hate the screechy, annoying song at the start. I'm sorry if the game writer likes it. It is also polar opposite to the mediaeval setting of the game. We need a song that fits the time period and the background of the characters. I especially like the large text, some of us don't have good eyesight. That is thoughtful. It's a compliment to the writers and designers that I was drawn back to the game despite myself and now I'm happily immersed. I am so looking forward to the expansion pack! Well done, WW. |
