Can you survive long enough to reach your coronation? Rule the world, or die trying!

Being a Princess is not an easy job. Being a Queen is even harder. Especially when you're only fourteen years old, and the reason you've inherited the throne is that your royal mother has just met an untimely end.

Now power is up for grabs. You may be the official heir, but much of the country's nobility would love to steal the throne for themselves. Aggressive neighbors will take advantage of any weakness to enlarge their borders at your expense. And that's not even mentioning the magical dangers which are lying in wait...

WARNING: This game is not easy. You will die ... often.

Reading the tagline, it seems easy and all that. But that warning that "You'll die...often" just chilled me out. XD

 Re: Long Live the Queen
Why would I spend $12.95 on a game that I would die often on? I buy a game to enjoy it, not to die often just to get frustrated. RPG's (along with H0G's) are my most 2 favorite genres, but this one is not for me.

Well, it's not really an RPG. Some people like challenged games, so this is probably one for them.

As far as I could say from the screenshots is...that it's a sim game (?)

I tried to edit that "to" to 2 but it wouldn't lol. I saw another comment almost the same as mine. Good luck with this game but I don't know.

 Re: Long Live the Queen
Be forwarned - this game is INSANE. You'll die at a point, then next time you'll build up on the skill that keeps you from dying at that point, only to die at ANOTHER point. You'll have to do a whole lot of trial and error in order to win.

I can't believe this is getting such a low rate! Hanako is known for EXTREMELY well written games 9unlike other game companies wich on some game reviews sites are reviewed as masterpieces despite TERRIBLE writing). This is hanako's probably most ambitious game to date, offering complexity and challenge at the same time. Well done hanako, please keep these games coming, I like your ideas.

it seems to me that most of the people that commented here never played a game from Hanako -_-'

I've actually played all of Hanako's games and most of the time I love them. I certainly give her pointers for trying something difficult this time around, but I myself personally perfer games where I'm not always frustrated.

Do they put the "you will die...often" just to say don't get frustrated it happens to everyone or it's supposed to happen?

 Re: Long Live the Queen
Judging by the reaction the game got during the testing phase, it's probably there to let you know what you're in for. At the beginning it looked like a Cute Knight-esque life sim game, but then it hit people in the face with how much you die.

Yep, we were told to let players know that they would die a lot, so people who prefer easier games would know this might not be the game for them. And to stop players who do like a real challenge becoming disappointed when they DO die a lot.

 Re: Long Live the Queen
I don't know if I missed something, but there doesn't seem to be any gameplay. Just tick boxes, like filling out a form, then submit the results for analysis. And that's it. Why would anyone want to do that?

Also, I was quite shocked to hear The Queen as the opening theme. Republican though I am, I think this is in poor taste, especially in the year of the Diamond Jubilee. I am Commonwealth, but I don't know what actual Britons would think of it - I hope they wouldn't mind. Perhaps I'm over-reacting. I just didn't like it. The writer could have used original music instead.

 Re: Long Live the Queen
wow I'm reading the comments and I'm surprised. Hanako's games are always great and there's often dying and unhappy endings..which makes the game great because there are more endings to unlock. Also Hanako's games are otome/sim, I still haven't played this one but I will soon.

 Re: Long Live the Queen
I do have to say; if you know what to do, what classes should Elodie take, and if you have a good read on some things in the Hanako games forums, it will be quite easy winning. I think. I'm almost close on actually winning, if only my stats on her magic are high enough >;[

But yes. I died. Several times. I'm actually glad my first ending wasn't Elodie dying, lol, but still a bad ending. Though frustrating, it was a very nice play. :3

 Re: Long Live the Queen
You can win without being a Lumen at all. Heck you can win with just a high Composure rate. IMO the Social skills are still the most important since it makes people love you and thus avoid most assassination attempts, and prevents you from dying against the final boss when you aren't a Lumen.

Personally I think this game rocks but I'm a bit disappointed in the free trial. I mean, it would have been better if it was a hour long free trial.

It just ended when things were getting interesting.

I'm definitely going to buy this game because it's worth it

 Amazing Game!!
Long live the queen!! i finally managed to win! Elodie lived and became the queen! the game sure is difficult but this is the point of this type of games.. if you just want to see a story you can watch a movie instead! but in these games you can decide what happens next etc..
and now a very short review! at the beggining the story seems very interesting and after many weeks it becomes more interesting, cause many people want Elodie dead! actually i died a lot of times until i knew what classes i had to take!!
the graphics were just amazing! soo cute! but i wanted to see some pics of the pallace! anyway...
the music was good enough. not something super-perfect but still a good choice from the developers!!
the replay value is huge, since there are so many different endings you can find!!
overall it was better than i expected!! congratulations! i give it 9/10 cause 10/10 is too much!! looking forward to playing your next games!!
