It seems interesting. I'm not sure why the file is so big though. 195MB? That's really going to hurt completed downloads.

 Re: Unemployment Quest
It's because it was made with RPG Maker VX Ace which has much higher quality music, and therefore much bigger files. He should have simply not included the music he didn't use, greatly reducing the file size. It's what I'm going to do.

It's an interesting idea for a game, and the guy succeeded on Kickstarter, congrats.

EDIT: I played the demo a little. It is indeed an interesting concept, but just from my short 10 minutes I played before quitting I found many design errors.

1. Unless I'm doing something wrong, and I don't think I am, dashing is disabled throughout the entire game. Why? Have fun walking everywhere.

2. The inside walls of houses are 3 tiles tall, with 2 tiles for the wall and 1 for the top. In at least 1 house he forgets this design and one of the walls creating a room is only 2 tiles high.

3. A house with a fire burning inside does not have a smoke animation outside.

4. A house with a chimney has no fireplace inside, let alone a fire.

5. A house that is supposed to represent a restaurant merely has some tables, a wandering woman whom I guess is the proprietor, and a basement with a bunch of stuff. No chefs, waitresses, or a place where the food is supposed to be made.

6. You can fight the woman which is how you give her your resume when you win. Afterwards she asks if you want to buy anything. What about the resume I just gave you? The blacksmith said he'd let me know if anything comes up, why doesn't this woman say anything? This is more of a nitpick from a writing perspective.

7. The guy forgot to put in blank events to block the exits to houses (or at least the one house this happened in). This means that the wandering NPCs can wander into that exit area preventing you from leaving until they finally wander out.

8. While the names for skills and items are interesting and fit the theme, he didn't bother to change the names of your stats. Why not make "ATK" into "determination" or something?

9. The game is almost completely vanilla RPG Maker VX Ace. He did make the music himself which actually isn't bad. This wouldn't bother me except that it's not hard to find scripts and resources available even for commercial games. More on this soon.

There are some good things about this game. The concept as mentioned is unique, and for the most part he seems to stick to it. You use your resume as your weapon, the names of skills and items fit the theme, and random encounters are things like "doubt". It was nice not to see any spelling or grammar mistakes in the first 10 minutes of the game too.

I give this a 3/10 based on the demo because of the numerous errors I found whilst barely playing. I'm not going to pay $5 in the hopes that these errors are only in the first town. It gets a 3/10 only because of the unique concept which is hard to find these days, especially amongst the RPG Maker crowd.

What gets my goat is this guy was paid 10 grand in total by over 1000 people to make this game, and this is what he delivers? With that kind of dough he could have easily afforded an artist to make him his own unique tileset, animations, and battlers, as well as a composer for high quality music and sound effects (not made with the Nintendo DS), and still have plenty left over.

Extremely disappointed that this guy only used part of that 10 grand to make physical copies of this low quality game. This is an example of why you should be wary of funding projects from unproven developers who have no prototype of what they're working on.

This game could have been better, much better. The creator had the funds, the time but didn't bother making a proper game. There is pretty much not a single level without some kind of problem.
This is absolutely not worth getting, never making that mistake with this person again.
