This is my castle. Let me show you around. ^^ What do you want to know first? You can visit to learn about me. Have some fresh air and play with the animals in the garden.(my own zoo(. Interested in history? Widen your knowledge with a littele bit about Vietnam. You like traveling? Go to Ho Chi Minh for a change. Have Fun! (I'll keep updating this cottage.^^)
Hello, everyone! Welcome: to my cottage. Hope you like it.
This is one of my favourite comic books. It is called "Than dong dat Viet", (it is like a series). It is funny with a smart boy as the main character.
Here is the main character named Ti.He might be young but very smart.
My favourite food is fried fish with cooked rice. You know who makes the best fried fish? My mom, she was a chef once.I cannot have enough of her fish.
I often hang out with my friends on the weekend. But usually, I stay at home and watch TV or play with my sister. We watch American TV channels such as MTV, Disney Channel, Animax,...
This is my favourite cartoon on Animax called Alice Academy. It is about students with natural power. If you haven't watched one yet.Click here.
First of all, we have 54 different groups of people(like comunities) and each group has its own language. But the largest group is called "Kinh", which speaks Vietnamese. These people live in big cities such as Ho Chi Minh city, Ha Noi..., and other groups live in mountains and forest.
Secondly, each group has its own culture, and I can't show you all the culture of 54 community. I'll just tell you some general things that we are famous for.
I know you all care about clothing and how you look, so let's see what we where in Vietnam.
Here, we wear "Non la" in the countryside. Here is the picture of it.
We usually wear it with "Ao dai". I guess most of you have heard about it.
It shows the waist of Vietnamese women and make them look graceful. Doesn't she look nice in that dress?
Next is art. We don't draw anime in Vietnam. We have folk painting. There are two kinds of folk painting in my country. One is called "Dong Ho" and another one is "Hang Trong".
Here are some examples of Dong Ho picture:
These are some of the Hang Trong pictures:
My dad told me that these pictures come from a village also called "Dong Ho" and the paint were made from natural things around us. For example, green is from leaves, white is from some seashells,... And they rinse the paper with powder from scallops.
Vietnam is also famous for its bronz artifacts. Sorry I can't post the pics on, cause they are too big. When I can find anything smaller, i'll post it on.^^
Our traditional transportation is "Xich lo". Eventhought there are other modern cars in Vietnam now, but xich lo is still a symbol of history.
But sadly, the government has banned xich lo for no reason. They ARE wacky sometimes.
If any of you want to visit Vietnam, Here are some famous places in Ho Chi Minh city:
As you know, this is called "Thong Nhat palce" or Reunification Palace, and it is a historical landscape. It is where Vietnamese people stopped the war and start a democratic life, that explains why the building has been kept until today. You should see it for real.
For shopping or souvenir, you can visit Ben Thanh market. You can find anything there, also a perfect souvenir for your family back home. In front of it, there is a night market for foreigner to buy clothes and eat food originally come from Vietnam. If you don't like it, may I suggest Pho 200 near by, a place where Bill Clinton has visited.
About the picture of Pho 2000, it is hard to see the restaurant, so I did't post it on.

Your cottage is great since you put much time and creativity into it. I like the picture of the arbor in your castle and the getting to know vietnam area.
Hi Victoria. Congratulations on a great cottage I've been to Ho Chi Minh city and seen a bit of Southern Vietnam. It is a very beautiful country with so much to see and I would like to go back there sometime. Thanks for putting so many lovely pictures up to remind me how much I enjoyed it.
